Who: Open to everyone
What: #TeamTranquillity are in it to win it. Deciding to work together, the gang has taken over the library and converted it into a space for weary residents of Hadriel to catch their breath and just take it easy amid the intensifying competition in the city to invoke one emotion or another.
Where: The Library
When: March 15th to March 21st, duration of the event.
Warnings: Will Update if necessary!
[Hadriel's library has unfortunately seen little use; the books are either unreadable or cover material so random that onlyHope someone who completely did not understand the concept of fun would have picked those books. Little wonder it's hardly frequented by Hadriel's residents.
But it's still a library: meaning, it's got plenty of space, and plenty of peace and quiet.
So with all the chaos erupting over the city? It could make the perfect sanctuary, a place to take a breather from the emotion wars. A place where a person could unwind over a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, knit a sweater in peace, or even plunge themselves into pillow/blanket fort and just take a nap. A place to relax.
A place for Tranquillity.
Which is why Team Tranquillity has taken over the library and converted it into a mini R&R. Tables and chairs have been pushed to the side to allow for floor space, and comfortable chairs, sofas and even beanie bags, all in softer pastel colours, dot the empty space. A couple of tables and chairs have been left as well, so that those in need of them can use them as they'd like. And of course, the giant pillow fort bundled in one corner for people to unceremoniously throw themselves into.
The members of Team Tranquillity are all around to ensure that your time in the Tranquillity Space is as relaxing as can be. Some members are even offering services, ranging from massages to meditation, gentle exercises to a steaming hot cup of joe. Knitting classes, advice on handling emotional stress when under torture and trauma, and even some fortune-telling for light laughs.
And it's perfectly alright to drag a beanie bag to your own personal corner and just crash there for the day. No judgement from Team Tranquillity.
A message is sent out via the network to inform Hadriel's citizens of the new place in town to get away from it all. Drop by whenever, do what you need to relax and recharge. It's a stressful world out there, and sometimes we all need to take some time to chill out, right?
Welcome, to the Tranquillity Space.]

Welcome, to the Tranquillity Space.]

[So simple, the first cue is just taking a face down card from one's hand and putting it face up in between them. Tada.]

You are newly arrived this month, are you not?
no subject
More like newly arrived this week. Is it obvious, or am I gonna have to start learning everyone's names? Is that standard?
no subject
We have only so many inhabitants, and there exists the network on our phones.
[You start recognising everyone through exposure, even when you don't technically know them.
His next card is a three. He gives Ned a curious look.]
Whence came you?
no subject
London. Ever been? I've been coming up empty so far. [He pops down a Queen and waits, expectantly. Benignly.]
no subject
[The card Henry places is only a six.]
no subject
In the City? I've been there plenty of times. My friends and I are just across the river in Southwark.
[A nice place where there is definitely no crime.]
no subject
Southwark. Hm. A lively place.
[He cocks his head and there is a flicker of consideration in his gaze. Even in Henry's time it apparently has a certain reputation.]
no subject
His next card is only a four.]
You can say it; I've heard it all. It's easy to keep out of trouble in Southwark if you know where to go.
[Which means, of course, that the reverse is also true, but details.]
no subject
[He watches the change in the game thoughtfully. It does, in fact, appear to be simple. Number cards form the pile, faces win the pile and he already knows the condition for victory. Now it's just a matter of picking up the intricacies.]
So the queen wins the pile, but not immediately. There are two chances to counter? ...With a king? An ace?
[Henry plays a nine.]
no subject
You'll see. Game's more fun this way.
no subject
Do you know All Fours?
[Henry's thinking ahead. The next card that he places down is a jack.]
What year?
no subject
[He still puts down a jack to match Henry's, glancing up at the question.] —1868.
no subject
Four hundred and seventy-five years. Less than most. [He says more to himself than Ned, but then his brow furrows slightly as a thought occurs to him. He touches his knuckles to his mouth in a habitual gesture and looks Ned's clothes over, before indicating to them with that same hand.]
Were you dragged here alone?
no subject
Technically speaking, I'd say so. [He was alone in the snake zone and it was terrible. But let him do some quick mental math of his own, before he makes a guess,] You've met Frye, too?
[This is the third time today.]
no subject
[Henry answers, wearing an expression that suggests he's thinking about how satisfying it will be to strike Jacob in that aggravating mouth. He can believe Jacob a product of Southwark.]
Are you much acquainted? Or be it mere chance?
[His next card is a king. Upon seeing it, he quirks a smile and gives Ned a challenging look. If the queen forced two cards to be played and the jack only one, then three for a king is the logical step. He could do with gaining some ground back, giving the comparative thinness of his own hand.]
no subject
You're the one usually going around in the armor, aren't you? He had a field day about that.
[Which answers the question of how acquainted they are to some extent, but he'll go on anyway as he sits back a bit,] He works for me sometimes, and ever so diligently. We're friendly.
no subject
[Henry stresses, half-offended despite his lack of familiarity with that turn of phrase. Of course he wears his armour. If they weren't trying to inspire tranquility then he'd be wearing it right now.
He reaches out to collect the cards.]
And your business is...?
[He enquires, as he sets down a seven.]
no subject
He puts down a two.]
I'm in shipping. Handling goods, and so on. Sometimes one needs a little more muscle on hand when trying to get cargo safely past the rougher areas, to answer your next question.
no subject
[ok, that sounds fake but... ok
Henry greets that knowledge with an incredulous look, though he is not about to suggest that Ned's lying. Well, he supposes, not all knights are equal. Even in his time a fair number do not take knighthood to heart as they should.
He gives an elegant shrug in response to Ned's following words. The next card he plays is a nine.]
I doubt it not. Have you yet begun to consider what you will make of yourself here?
no subject
He's not going to dispute Jacob's worthiness of knighthood, either way. He's not in much of a position to have an opinion on knighting, or the Queen... but it's not untrue!
His next card is another queen.]
We're opening another bar. [bar plus]
no subject
He pushes a hand through his hair as he spares Ned a somewhat perplexed glance.]
...Why?
[Not only do they already have Delight's bar, but Delight is the source of all their alcohol. It seems to him a strange choice.]
no subject
[Obviously. What else would he do with himself here, in this no-economy hellhole?
He plays a four, a nine, and the third queen in the deck, which is totally not suspect. He's lucky.]
how long before I lose track of the cards...
Fair enough.
[He doesn't think anything of the play; it is, after all, a game of chance. His next cards are a three followed by an eight.
He's starting to think this is a losing game.]
How do you intend to supply it?
shh... don't speak of it, i have no idea what happened so far
Luck and ingenuity. These things take time, you know.
cards, so many cards... i'm saving us both
you're a hero
