Who: Open to everyone
What: #TeamTranquillity are in it to win it. Deciding to work together, the gang has taken over the library and converted it into a space for weary residents of Hadriel to catch their breath and just take it easy amid the intensifying competition in the city to invoke one emotion or another.
Where: The Library
When: March 15th to March 21st, duration of the event.
Warnings: Will Update if necessary!
[Hadriel's library has unfortunately seen little use; the books are either unreadable or cover material so random that onlyHope someone who completely did not understand the concept of fun would have picked those books. Little wonder it's hardly frequented by Hadriel's residents.
But it's still a library: meaning, it's got plenty of space, and plenty of peace and quiet.
So with all the chaos erupting over the city? It could make the perfect sanctuary, a place to take a breather from the emotion wars. A place where a person could unwind over a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, knit a sweater in peace, or even plunge themselves into pillow/blanket fort and just take a nap. A place to relax.
A place for Tranquillity.
Which is why Team Tranquillity has taken over the library and converted it into a mini R&R. Tables and chairs have been pushed to the side to allow for floor space, and comfortable chairs, sofas and even beanie bags, all in softer pastel colours, dot the empty space. A couple of tables and chairs have been left as well, so that those in need of them can use them as they'd like. And of course, the giant pillow fort bundled in one corner for people to unceremoniously throw themselves into.
The members of Team Tranquillity are all around to ensure that your time in the Tranquillity Space is as relaxing as can be. Some members are even offering services, ranging from massages to meditation, gentle exercises to a steaming hot cup of joe. Knitting classes, advice on handling emotional stress when under torture and trauma, and even some fortune-telling for light laughs.
And it's perfectly alright to drag a beanie bag to your own personal corner and just crash there for the day. No judgement from Team Tranquillity.
A message is sent out via the network to inform Hadriel's citizens of the new place in town to get away from it all. Drop by whenever, do what you need to relax and recharge. It's a stressful world out there, and sometimes we all need to take some time to chill out, right?

Ravine | OTA
Despite the darkness of the setting, there is something oddly calming about the scene, and alluring all the same. At the moment, she has a cast iron teapot with a matching, handleless cup and saucer underneath it. There is only enough for one, however, and she does not seem inclined to indulge herself.
No, this drink is for someone else.
Without there being a blatant sign hanging nearby, it's clearly a fortune teller booth if anyone had ever seen one.
"Come into my parlor," she summons the inquisitive party near, an odd, old accent hinted in her smoky voice.
How funny. A woman wearing sunglasses indoors and in a dark area.
[ooc: Ravine here will be offering to tell characters their fortunes, but only positive ones! Feel free to contact me through any of these avenues if you have any questions.]
ayyy
"Oh, uhm... m-me?" She points to herself with a slight twist of the head, just to make sure there wasn't actually anyone else around, because she does a pretty good job of blending into the background most of the time- it wouldn't be weird if someone was actually trying to get someone else's attention. "What're you, uh... doing here?"
ayyy ohhh, ayyy ohhh!

fuck now that song's gonna be stuck in my head.

More disappointed in himself for letting it happen, and then losing his cool. Some team mate he is.
He does try to hide it when he comes within sight, but there's a tension to his voice that suggests that if anyone's in need of some tranquility, it's him.
"Is everything alright, Ravine? I'm sorry it took awhile to find and disable all the speakers."

She looks up at Ravine. "...Hello. We met before.
"What are you doing?"
Her mother was the only one in her family who bothered consulting the fortune teller when it came to dates and names. That affair tended to be somewhat businesslike and routine, so she doesn't readily recognize the trappings of a typical psychic booth.

So when she does briefly leave the lab in search of food, taking a couple temporal detours to avoid people along the way, it's a bit of a surprise when a single yellow light on her watch happens to catch her eye. She taps the screen a couple times. Local coherence is lower than expected. She'd been observed coming through somewhere around here recently... even though she hadn't been here yet.
She frowns at the sounds of people coming from the usually abandoned library. The most likely place that someone saw her, then. Or worse, had already talked to her in a conversation she had yet to personally experience. Taking a deep breath and trying to brace herself for whatever unexpected interaction was coming, she heads in.
Intentionally avoiding talking to anyone unless approached first, she makes her way through the building. Spatial accuracy is very low, so the problem could be anywhere around here... and when Ravine's voice reaches her, she turns cautiously, assuming the most neutral expression she can. Is it the first or the second time they've talked today? She has no idea, but she's about to find out.
"I'm fine standing here."

Maketh pauses, one hand on her hip. She's been making her rounds and trying not to let her anger bleed out into her voice. She refuses to play this game that the gods have designed - not willingly, at least - and has already burned the bracelet that Sorrow tried to make her with.
Regardless, life goes on. She's been checking in on various parts of the city to ensure that no one is killing each other and - hopefully - that nothing is on fire.
She's seen Ravine around, but doesn't know enough about the woman one way or another.

What do you mean, there are people who aren't filled with resignation and dread at the entire concept of the future? He hesitates, but curiosity wins out and he approaches the table at her invitation. "Said the spider to the fly? I'm familiar with the saying, but I'm not sure it fits." At least he got it. Considering the city's mishmash of a population, that might be rarer than she was expecting. 21st
It's several days into this team-based game of the gods when he walks past the booth again. His mind is completely elsewhere -- it's hard not to be when Danse is around, reminding him not only of the Commonwealth, but of some unknown history between the two of them -- when through the soft whirr of his processor, Nick hears a voice call out to him. Those golden eyes of his flick in the direction of it, toward the booth, then back to the rest of the library. All seems quiet today; he can take a break. Henry would probably tell him he should, since he's not doing Team Tranquility any favors by not relaxing. He's not keen on this scheme the gods have cooked up, but at least Tranquility would be a preferable winner over Rage or Confusion. Better not accidentally support them if he can help it.
And so, he steps inside. "There something I can help you with?"

Massage
There's a certain humour in that being associated with him. Henry still cannot quite shift his bemusement over it.
Nor can he sit back and let the fools who do not see the harm in Fear, Rage, Sorrow or Confusion dominating this contest win. So here he is, offering the only talent he possesses that might actually help others to relax: massage.
Anyone who has fought a battle or marched long distances — or indeed done both in a single day — knows well its value and has good practice in applying it. Having been on battlefields since the age of fourteen he is certainly no exception. The highly active life he keeps up here ensures that he has maintained his skill.
Though he never pictured using massage for this end.
It's rare to catch Henry out in public without his armour on, but even he realises that in this case it would be counterproductive to wear. Likewise unarmed, his sword and shield are safely stashed out of sight. The image he presents manning what is obviously their massage station is about as at ease as most will see him. Much of that is the atmosphere that the team has cultivated.
He is ready to do his part.]
no subject
Let's be clear, here. Jacob did not know Henry would be manning a massage table. Jacob didn't even know he would come here with the urge to sabotage. But you know what he is? He's an opportunist. And when he sees Henry from across the library, he sets down his third cup of tea before making a damn beeline.
Suddenly, despite being in perfect physical condition, he has an ache in his shoulders. That's what he'll go with.]
I've never seen this side of you, Harry. I think I prefer it.

He initially came to get a book -- yes, really -- but upon seeing that team Tranquility had taken over the library, his curiosity was piqued. What are they intending to do? Tea and cocoa, card games and crafting, and apparently Henry is giving massages. He never would have guessed. He approaches with a warm smile, at once fond and curious. ]

He knew his own love(was it strange, using that word? Would he dare admit that what he felt toward Ulaume was love? What a human emotion) was on Fear's team, but that didn't mean that they all couldn't stop by for refreshments. As long as no one stirred up any trouble. Here's to hoping? He went up to Henry where he'd been massaging others, taking a brief break from his meditation.]
Do you think you could teach me?

[Maketh offers Henry a faint smile. Of all the gods, she supposes Tranquility is the least offensive. He hasn't yet caused true harm - though she suspects that will not last - and it is better, she supposes, to serve his interests instead of Rage or Fear's. For her part, Maketh has burned the token Sorrow left her with and is attempting - with some reluctance - to be cheerful just to spite him.
It's a bit harder than she anticipated.]

Security + Clean-up + Tea & Hot Chocolate
Occasionally you might see Danse around picking up leftover cups to be washed and put back on the rack. He can also be seen checking the flasks and refilling the drinks every now and then when they run low. But mostly, he's around as part of the security presence; he'll be lingering at the lobby close to the entrance, keeping a watchful eye on everyone else.]
no subject
This, by itself, shouldn't be a problem. It's not a crime for people to enjoy a nice hot beverage. In fact, it should be flattering that he's not only drank the chocolate, but a cup of coffee and tea, even if they won't mix well later.
It should be a crime for how many cups Jacob has left littered at the table he's sitting at. He's taken up two chairs, leaning back in one and using the other as a footrest. A cup of coffee is left steaming, unfinished and abandoned, while there's an two overturned cups of chocolate, one beside it and another on the floor. The most recent one-- the tea-- has been set teetering at the edge.
Jacob is not here to be tranquil. He is here to disrupt it. And he's staring directly at Danse the entire time. Watching. Waiting.]

L Lawliet | OTA
He's most interested in the tea and hot chocolate, partaking generously in both but contributing little to the peaceful setup. On paper, it's exactly what he wants; safety, something apart from the fighting and turmoil, but ultimately, that's been his existence in Hadriel largely up to this point. He's done a lot of quietly lying low and hiding away from fellow prisoners and gods alike, and the result is something that's felt fully and forcefully tonight: boredom.
Knowing from his first worthless attempt shortly after his arrival that the library books are fairly useless, he paces among them nevertheless, steps a little too quick and clipped to really fit with the spirit of tranquility. He wants something to happen and break up the monotony, and he seems close to a breaking point.
If you seem interesting (be honest, do you?) he's probably staring at you right now, making no attempt to downplay or conceal it. He's sizing you up, noting your mannerisms, noticing small details about your appearance and the way you carry yourself. He's profiling you, in as many words, because part of him is really hoping you're here to start something.]

Of course, she almost outright screams when she turns and manages to catch L's eye, even for a moment.
She does outwardly jump a bit, making a scraping sound as her clawed feet re-find their purchase, and stealing another glance his direction to be sure yes, okay, there is a human and they're just watching and that's not weird at all. She continues to take a few furtive glances, hoping at length he won't actually notice, but when it becomes apparent he might have not even blinked, she's beginning to realize this is not the best strategy.
So instead, she just... waves. A little stiffly. At least she's trying to smile.]

Anne of Austria | ota (sewing/crafting circle)
She settles herself on one of the chairs, her embroidery in her lap as she worked. The queen wore a simple dress, her hair braided back neatly, her sword stashed by her chair next to her sewing bag on the floor.
It was relaxing to work on something that was so familiar and she hoped that others would find the same peace and calm as she did. She'll even teach anyone who wishes to learn so come take a seat with her, all are welcome.]

Eventually when she has a moment alone to herself, Danse finally approaches her, a cup of hot tea in hand that he offers to her.]
Here. You've been at your sewing for quite some time. Consider a break for your fingers, miss.
[There's something about the way she holds herself, refined and graceful and poised, that gives Danse the impression that she's not your typical person. Hence, the 'miss' tacked on at the end.]

[Ned has obtained a deck of cards, and so he is definitely going to sit around on bean bags and play some very relaxing card games. He's relaxed, at the very least... card game adrenaline relaxes him. He'll invite almost anyone who looks passingly interested in his (not very flashy) card shuffling to come sit down and play with him, but there is one thing—
He's not going to name the game. And besides that, he's not going to explain the rules. With enough observation, the game is not hard to figure out, although why does he keep conveniently winning the pile of played cards...??
It's possible Ned is not a gold star member of Team Tranquility, but he's having a chill time!!]
two
[At some point
before Delight's bar explodes, Ned swipes a bottle of whiskey (or two) for his own purposes. Right now that purpose is making himself a rudimentary Irish coffee, which also is very soothing. If he's spotted - and he's not trying to be subtle, so - he'll waggle the bottle with a wink.]Want a drop?
[but not children, you go drink some hot milk or something]
wildcard??
[He'll loiter around the library for a few days in a half-hearted attempt at team solidarity, otherwise...]
Two
Maybe if it's mixed with coffee? His will power has been utterly tested to heck and back, and combined with his curiosity (because coffee and whiskey, really???) and his secret sweet tooth, that drink is a heck of a temptation that he honestly doesn't have the strength to fight right now.
Danse drags himself to the table and sits himself down, ragged and tired out.]

Asgore | OTA
However, he really hasn't the heart. Part of him feels the same compulsion as everyone to help the group - and indeed, he is sorry that he's not contributing to his teammate's efforts, even if he isn't close to any of them. But really...he has caused enough sorrow in his life. All he ever really wanted to bring was Hope.
Instead, he's elected to sit this one out, for the most part. Team Tranquility's little bastion of peace is attractive in this time of chaos and competition, so the old king finds himself there before very long. He is too large and inhuman to tuck himself away easily, but he's making an attempt nonetheless - he's seated in an armchair off in a corner, attempting to follow along with one of the simple knitting patterns available. He looks like he knows how it's meant to work in theory, but he's not very good. His fingers are too large for the needles.
He's tucked his team bracelet away somewhere, so it isn't visible. All he wants to do right now is have a moment or two of peace.]

Having gotten pretty good at making coffee at this point, he's also experimenting. Someone want a mocha? He can probably manage it with a bit of the hot chocolate mix. Want a really sketchy but still good frappuccino? He recently figured that out, and just ignore the fact that the blender he found quacks like a duck when it's used.
When he's not making coffee though, he's mostly lounging on a chair and playing with his phone. Being tranquil himself is just as important as inspiring it in others, right?]

Dr. Lee Rosen / OTA
Rosen is unsure if the association is fitting or ironic. Or humorous. He is many things that seem adjacent to tranquil: even tempered, quiet, and self-reflective, but, at least in his opinion, he never seemed to have reached the upper peak of 'tranquil' in his life. He always felt 'tranquil' implied a type of inner peace that is, as of yet, unknown to him and is likely to remain so.
Even so, he finds himself relieved to be so recruited into 'tranquil'.
And as such he has couched himself unceremoniously across two beanbag chairs, a pile of unreadable books around him and a stack of papers with his scribblings on them. But for the moment he is resting, eyes closed though he isn't sleeping, and hands folded neatly across his stomach. Now and again as others pass him by his eyes flutter open, he steals a peek at his surroundings, then they slip closed again.
It is in this moment, despite everything that comes with being trapped in this cave, that he feels his freedom
He was unsure what to bring to contribute, but the harp he has recently received from Curufin sits at the ready should it be of interest to anyone.

Eventually she'd caved and sent a text to Rage to gauge how much a god's favor might really be worth, stuffed the bracelet in a jacket pocket and went into the city. The easiest and most satisfying way of inciting anger is right out, her punishment by a dead enemy still taking the spice out of life even here. But that's alright, she'll think of something.
And where better to look for targets than the place excitement goes to die? All the sentimental goody two shoes and insufferable god apologists are likely to be there, so she makes her way into the library and wanders around idly, scoping out the painfully dull arrangements with a perfectly arched eyebrow that seems to say is this the best you can do? She may also be purposefully shoulder checking anyone who walks by too closely with a beverage in hand. She's taking it slow for now, ok.
