[Jo realizes that to take Pell up on her offer she probably needs to reconcile with Cal. The most recent cave makeover had definitely not gone well for the two of them. They had been at odds with each other and she was pretty sure they would have to at least tolerate each other if she was going to successfully move in with the har and assuage her loneliness.

She walks to their house, knocking quietly and hoping Cal is actually home. After a moment of thought she calls out.]

Cal?


Pell;

[After her conversation with Calanthe ends she seeks Pellaz out, finding him in a few moments in the kitchen of the house.]

Fair enough, I suppose. [Since he can't even say the worst is behind them anymore.] It's not as if I can say no to him, regardless.

He does tend to have that effect on people. [Jo shakes her head, trying to stay serious.]

Trust me, I've noticed. He's difficult to say no to. I think he knows it, too.

I wouldn't be surprised. [She laughs quietly.]

Does he give you that look, too?

[knifecollecting]

He used it like, every day, the last few weeks. [She laughs quietly.]

I'm sure he was a terror.

[knifecollecting]

[She smiles fondly and shakes her head.]

Only when it came to getting out to see you.

I can't say as I blame him for that.

I was the same way at that age. Shoulda remembered it.

I'm sure you managed to get what you wanted, too.

[She shoots Cal a smile as she shakes her hand.]

I'm softer than my mother was.

Are you sure you want to be telling me that?

[She bristles, just because she knows what she wants to say and says it. Most of the time.]

That doesn't mean I'm weak.

Of course not. And Pell won't get you to do anything.

[She shrugs.]

Looks like we have the same weakness.

And? I'd call it worth it.
