What: The event log for the Party Royale event
Where: All over the city!
When: September 22nd-29th
Warnings: Paintball, loss of consciousness, and partying!

As is par for the course in Hadriel, at some point throughout the day- waking up, making breakfast, doing laundry- you find an item. This isn't just any item though, it's a tried and true paintball gun, shining and just waiting to be picked up. This gun never runs out of ammunition, never malfunctions, and almost always hits the target that you're aiming at, so say hello to your new best friend for the next week.

Touching or picking up the gun will fill you with a competitive surge, which will likely increase when you find the note that's left with it, saying nothing more than be the last one standing. With instructions like that, how could you lose?

Well, you could lose if someone else shoots you. But never fear, there's a plan for that too! Even if you embrace the throes of unconsciousness, the gods have got your back and will eventually teleport you into a grand party where prizes will be handed out based on how long you survived. Awesome! At this party is also the traditional copious amounts of food and drink, as well as everyone's favorite goddess Delight and everyone's slightly-less-favorite goddess Rage!

[Brennan's honesty is kind of refreshing. Prussia blinks at her for a moment, trying to figure her out, before he laughs and extends a hand for a handshake.]

Damn right. Here's to more healthy competition! You're alright.

[The good thing about honesty is that how people react to it says more about them than about Brennan. Not that she is very good at reading other people, but facts will always be facts.

She smiles when he extends his hand and shakes it firmly.]

Agreed. And yes, I am all right despite a brief period of paintball-induced unconsciousness.

[That is not what he meant by that, but it is how she took it. Oops.]

[He laughs. Wow, this lady is literal. But she does bring up something interesting.]

Yeah, how long have you been awake in here? So like, people got hit and fell asleep, and then all started disappearin' a few days later.

[You have no idea, buddy.]

Hmm. [She checks her phone.] I awoke on the 26th after being shot on the 25th. Since then, I have been in the colosseum, unable to leave.

[She sounds a little annoyed by that.]

I claimed one of the rooms provided to us and have been sleeping quite comfortably despite the reveling. How did you know to come here?

They've kept you corralled in here all that time? Huh. [That explains that.]
Well, if you tried to get in here during the game, things got all weird like the caves. You couldn't find your way in, and you'd just end up coming out of a different exit. I thought maybe the gods were just makin' the place off-limits to keep people from hiding the game away inside. Once one person could get inside, I guess word travelled fast. Small town and all.

Yes.

[Not fun! She has been locked up in worse places before, but still!]

I see. Well, I suppose a banquet full of food and drink is an acceptable offering after imposing a compulsion upon us.

[It doesn't take much to make her be competitive, but generally she is not someone who enjoys taking shots at other people, so.]

So this is the work of the returning pair of abductors?

Yeah, it's acceptable... [Prussia wrinkles his nose.] But how many times are they gonna do weird stuff to us, then try to smooth it over with some food? The effect of it is kinda wearin' off. Though, I gotta say, I enjoyed the hell out of this little game. Even if the coma thing freaked me out at first.

[He certainly didn't need the help being competitive, either. It made him crazy levels of competitive.]

It's gotta be Rage 'n Delight, right? Paintball battle royale followed by party time?

So you have been here for long enough that this is not the first time you're confronted with a banquet as a reward or apology. [It's... not really a question. Well done, Brennan.] I imagine I would also find it repetitive and uninspired if this were not my first such event.

[You understand her, Prussia.]

That is a logical conclusion, yes. I arrived here after their departure. I will be interested to see how they interact with us.

[As if she can glean anything from social interaction besides the literal meaning of anything. But she is trying to get better, so she is interested in receiving more communications from their abductors.]

Oh yeah, I've been here for... [It's hard to keep track, for a few reasons.] Eight months? Nine? Whatever. Did you here about the time the city got split in half? What a shit show. They tried to make it up to us with a whole week of stuff afterwards. Party 'n food, scooters, a maze, all kinds of stuff. [It was pretty awesome, actually, but he doesn't want to admit that.] I guess that was acceptable too after like a week and a half of hell.

Oh yes, I read about that. That they are transporting this entire city through space proves their technology is vastly superior to any I know from my world.

[She says that like wants to see it and learn about it. Because she does.]

Right? They can do all that, but they say they can't send us home. They're full of it. They don't want to send us home. They've got lots of delicious emotional snacks here and bring in more every month, and they're not going to change that.

[He doesn't trust the gods on anything, especially that.]

[Put like that, she can see why there are those who hate them. Still, she must explore more possibilities.]

I have heard that we are very different from their prior hosts. I imagine this makes us something of a burden to them despite the sustenance they get from us.
