Event Log: Party Royale

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the Party Royale event
Where: All over the city!
When: September 22nd-29th
Warnings: Paintball, loss of consciousness, and partying!

As is par for the course in Hadriel, at some point throughout the day- waking up, making breakfast, doing laundry- you find an item. This isn't just any item though, it's a tried and true paintball gun, shining and just waiting to be picked up. This gun never runs out of ammunition, never malfunctions, and almost always hits the target that you're aiming at, so say hello to your new best friend for the next week.

Touching or picking up the gun will fill you with a competitive surge, which will likely increase when you find the note that's left with it, saying nothing more than be the last one standing. With instructions like that, how could you lose?

Well, you could lose if someone else shoots you. But never fear, there's a plan for that too! Even if you embrace the throes of unconsciousness, the gods have got your back and will eventually teleport you into a grand party where prizes will be handed out based on how long you survived. Awesome! At this party is also the traditional copious amounts of food and drink, as well as everyone's favorite goddess Delight and everyone's slightly-less-favorite goddess Rage!

Happy paintballing, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

► This log covers September 22nd-29th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you fall and break your neck or something because you can't die in paintball, please let us know here.

If not Hope, one of them. I hear either Fear or Sorrow are responsible for drawing us here in the first place. My true wish is to shut this "door" and spare any more suffering.

[ For all of his wobbling, still slightly drunk, chatter he sounded especially serious for that last line. ]

It's just the Null have their sights on Hope, given that one network correspondence awhile back. I'll take what I can get.

[Mmmm Tucker isn't gonna say it didn't occur to him to just take out the gods to try and get home, but this guy doesn't sound like that's his angle.]

You want to shut the door? Not go home? And hey, why stop at one?

[Boy he sure hopes nobody overhears this. He finds himself glancing over his shoulder a little.]

Well starting with one and hopefully that makes ending the others easier.

[ He caught that unsettled glance over the shoulder and lowered his voice to a slightly-drunk whisper. ]

I'd love to go home, of course. My selflessness only goes so far. Which isn't very far, realistically. But I don't want the risk of coming back, like some people have.

[That logic actually kind of checks out. If he killed Hope first, like the Null want, then none of the others can come back, and then he'd already know how to kill them. Good job, drunk weird guy.]

So you'd rather wreck the whole thing than risk it? Or just get rid of the gods and take over the Door?

I would. But-

[ Keeping this realm intact? That was an odd option. Malkus didn't have the capacity to actually do anything with such power, though. ]

If I, er we, take over the Door? I would like to return everybody to their homes. Perhaps we could even take whatever treasures remain in this world with us!

[ That was a little bit of greed peering out from that mask. ]

Treasures?

[This interest might be more genuine than before. Looks like Malkus isn't the only greedy one.]

What kinda treasures?

Everything. Whatever they hide in those temples of theirs, that they keep hidden from us. No doubt those who would claim godhood have some claim to riches? They create orchards and buildings. Certainly they'd create more for themselves.

[ Most of this Malkus made up as he felt himself on a roll. He didn't honestly know if Hope or Fear or anybody actually had anything valuable. But if an appeal to the wallets of the masses was what they needed, Malkus could make whatever promise he needed to. ]

I personally mean information. I desperately need a... cure. Anything that could heal the populations of my world.

[Tucker is pretty sure that's fake news, yeah. The gods don't need riches, because all they seem to be after is emotion and not dying. He can relate to one of those, at least.]

Do you think they'd give you a cure if you tried to bargain with them? After their dead, it'll be hard to get information.

They can hardly make a house without having it look like melting nougat. Fairly sure there's a chair made of deer antlers somewhere out there too.

[ Malkus laughed and gave a shrug, sounding pretty skeptical as far as their powers went. Sure they were powerful! That was completely without doubt. But as far shaping their power, he realized people had to do a fair bit of describing when it came to things they wanted. ]

What I mean is, I am not sure how much they understand of our home worlds. Sickness and such.

[Tucker considers that for a second, but luckily his brain is wired for finding loopholes and workarounds.]

They don't understand fruit, if that shit in the orchard is any indication. It doesn't taste right, or look right. But it's still food. Still works as fruit. Sounds to me like stuff works how they want it to, even if it's off a little.

[This started as a way to subtly instill pro-god ideas into Malkus' brain, but now Tucker's actually invested a little. Oops.]

Maybe if you described what you wanted, like, "a cure for this disease", they'd give you something that still does what it's supposed to? I mean they seem to be using magic, and with magic, just about anything's possible.
