What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.
This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.
Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.
To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...► This log covers October 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in dreams you don't die in real life, but if you somehow die in real life anyway, please let us know here.

The music also seems out of character until she tells you why she likes it so much: it calls back to human anthropological history, to the origins of music, heavy with percussion, almost tribal.
IGNORE THE JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE SONG ON THAT PLAYLIST wtf.She is neither the first nor the last anthropologist to enjoy this, but she's probably the only one in the club tonight. All in all, she's in an excellent mood. She's pretty loaded, so if you want drinks, she might foot the bill. Or you can dance with her, or you can leave the dance floor and go talk -- but that won't last for long. She's determined to have fun and share that fun with you.
She can be found dancing or having a drink at the bar. Or maybe she's hitting a guy who thought it'd be okay to hit on her or Angela. Or any patron who decided to hit on you.
Come at me, basically.]

George manages to fend off her natural curiosity for all of five minutes, then George goes over to stand next to Brennan at the bar]
Uh. Hi?
no subject
Hey, George. [The dim lighting casts big shadows on George's face, but not enough to obscure what Brennan finds herself looking at-- George's facial bones, and what they say about her age.] ...are you old enough to be drinking?
[Brennan is lawful good, so it is a valid question.]
no subject
[yeahhhhhh, she's only eighteen. but she's a Reaper which means she can drink quantities of alcohol which would kill a mortal!] ...I have an ID which says I am?
[busted. totally busted]
no subject
That's all you're having tonight.
[As a gesture of solidarity, Brennan sets aside her own drink.]
Are you having a good time?
no subject
...all right. Not like I can even get buzzed, anyway.
[George notices and smiles almost shyly]
I'm--not sure? I was never much into the whole nightclub scene. Only went to 'em when I had a reap there. But I never tried the whole dancing thing.
no subject
I'm only here because Angela told me about this. Without her, I'd be in the lab all the time -- which I also really like. This is fun to do now and then. Besides, she's always so happy when we do this. I think she does it as much for her as she does it for me..
[And Brennan doesn't mind at all.]
no subject
Like as a little treat for yourselves, so you don't get overworked? Makes sense. And hey, there's nothing wrong with helping your friend have a little fun and having some for yourself in the process.

In the now, Glacius has finally managed to extricate himself from the noisy throng of people after having one human too many bump clumsily off his icy armor as they attempt what he thinks might be some form of dancing. Casting a quick look around, he quickly heads over to the bar, not because he wants a drink but because it seems like one of the few places free of the frenetic, uncoordinated movements filling the stage. His ears are ringing thanks to the obscenely loud music, his nostrils burn and his mind is hazy from the stench of alcohol filling the place, and the flashing lights leave flickering floaters and afterspots in his vision.
Trying to recollect himself, Glacius hunches over at the far end of the bar and squeezes his eyes shut, massaging at his temples and shaking his head; only when he raises it a few moments later does he spot Brennan heading towards him. He can only guess what she wants based on the context of the dream, and so he raises a hand and quickly prefaces the interaction.]
-- Hello, I-- look. I do not wish to become inebriated, or partake in any particular substance, and I think if I were to try to dance I might knock a whole clump of you over, so I think it is best if I just stay here for now. [At this little end of the bar, away from the group, as far away as he can get from everything currently transpiring. He's... not exactly in his element, and he knows that it is showing. He also does not particularly care at the moment; he just wants to find a nice quiet spot to hunker down, maybe liquidize and retreat into some cool dark crevice if things are going to keep up this way for the foreseeable future.]

[Brennan gives him a gentle smile. This dream is touched by Delight, so even someone as oblivious as Brennan can tell when someone in it is not having fun. The music quiets a little as she draws nearer, and the pulsing lights slow and dim, so they can talk without raising their voices, and so they can see each other by the brilliant, beautiful glow of Glacius's eyes.]
Would you like to go outside? It's quieter there. We can stargaze. I need some fresh air anyway.
[She is being sincere. If she is happy, everyone should be. This is not a night for sadness or discomfort. There is joy to be found in the night sky and the cool air outside the club.]

I've been enjoying the music all night. A little break will be nice.
[She motions to the exit with her head.]
Come on. I want to look for Delphinus. Have you seen it before?
no subject
Ah... no. I--I do not even think I have heard that word before. What is it..?
no subject
[Yes, it reminds her of her mother, who she misses terribly, but those memories are happy. It is impossible that her mother is "watching over her" as people say, but Brennan feels comforted when she looks at the night sky and sees it there.]
There. [She lifts a hand and points at it, at the correct grouping of stars in the sky.] Those stars that form a sort of diamond, they're the head. And just below it and off to the side-- that's its tail.
no subject
I... I believe that I see it, yes. [The alien nods, following the direction of her hand, letting her guide his eyes.] I'm glad to meet another stargazer. They hold... a lot of meaning to me. Is it the same for you?

At the moment, she's cheering for Brennan as she punches some guy. Does he deserve it? Probably, but who cares?]
Go, Temperance! Let me know if you need me to tag in!
no subject
"I think she's got this," [says Angela, smiling her way through a grimace as Brennan's fist connects with the offending guy's jaw. There's a collective gasp from the people watching, some stray applause from people who have perhaps been his targets in the past.
He swears at her, but it doesn't sound very intimidating as he groans in pain too.]
It sounds like you broke your mandible. [Brennan says it like it's a fact, because it is: she knew exactly where she was hitting him and what the impact would do.] You should get it checked out.
[There may be a hint of laughter in her voice.
There may also be a really drunk friend of this guy starting to make his way over to defend his buddy.]
no subject
[The question isn't directed at anyone in particular—maybe Temperance if she can hear, maybe at the person standing next to Elena. Or maybe she's just thinking out loud. Either way, it's likely to go eternally unanswered (how tragic) because some other jerk is wading in and oh, no, she can't let that go unchallenged.]
Hey, buddy! I see you!
[And she charges in after him, taking a swing before he can actually do anything himself.]
no subject
In the real world, it's likely they would get kicked out at this point, but in this dream it's quite the opposite. Cheers erupt, the offending men are escorted out, and someone declares that they're buying everyone a drink.]
Nice one, [Brennan tells Elena.] Not exactly what I look for in a girls night out, but not bad. Different.
no subject
Thanks!
[She joins Temperance for the drink that is immediately handed to her with no waiting.]
Different is good. Honestly, I didn't expect him to go down so fast—don't get me wrong, I know how to throw a punch, but drunk guys don't usually feel a lot of pain.
no subject
Farther down the bar, Angela is getting some male attention she clearly finds enjoyable, so Brennan will call this evening a win so far.]
I hope this doesn't deter you from continuing to develop our friendship. This isn't how my nights out in first-world countries usually go.

no subject
I honestly don't know. [She shakes her head, laughing quietly at herself.] Got anything with 'bones' in the name?
no subject
How 'bout a Bone Crusher? [She ticks off the ingredients on her fingers as she lists them off.] Gin, vodka, triple sec, rum, and champagne. A little fancier than what I'd mix for myself, but I'm guessin' you don't mind something a little on the fancy side. What do you say?
no subject
[It's a night for new, fun experiences, it seems.]
I hope you stay a while. You're quite good at this.
[At serving drinks, and at surviving Hadriel, though the latter is more in Brennan's subconscious mind right now.]
