What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event
Where: In your dreams
When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.
This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.
Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.
To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...► This log covers October 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in dreams you don't die in real life, but if you somehow die in real life anyway, please let us know here.

[no, this party with its happy royal family, happy partygoers, and happy common folk is just about perfect
No, I haven't. What do I have to choose from?
no subject
[He leads her to the tables laden with food and drink.]
Nearly anything you might desire.
no subject
[her eyes widen at the multitude of possibilities before her. this is even better than her second wedding feast]
Hmm. Do you have those little tarts with apricots? Apricots are hard to grow in Westeros, so they're saved for very special occasions.
no subject
[Who doesn't love champagne?]
We've got apricot tarts somewhere around here, along with plenty of other treats. It sounds like your Westeros needs some good greenhouses.

[Marg likes her wine in moderation. unlike certain people she could mention. ::cough::Cersei Lannister::cough:: )
Our winters can be brutal and last ten years long. Even in the Reach, which is almost as south as you can go in Westeros, has trouble maintaining certain types of fruit bearing trees.
no subject
[But much more fun!]
Ten years? How do you survive it, with no season for food to grow?
no subject
[Marg is in favor of fun]
Our growing seasons can last ten years as well, so we put as much as we can in storage. We also salt and smoke meat to make it last longer. The Reach and the Riverlands provide much of the grain to the rest of the Seven Kingdoms, but the Riverlands were burnt and the Reach has been preoccupied with the war. I fear that when winter does come again, there will be widespread famine.
no subject
That sounds awful. I wish that we could help - famine is not something Arnes has needed to protect itself against. I can only imagine the suffering of the people.
[But this is a Delight dream, so...]
There's little you can do about it now. You may as well enjoy yourself.
no subject
Oooh! It is fizzy. I wonder how they make it?
It will not be an easy winter when it does come. I hope it's not for a long time, give Westeros some chance of recovery.
[exactly! time for a less depressing subject]
That's true. And I shall. Do you dance?
no subject
[He grins, and sips his champagne.]
Of course I dance. And quite well, or so I'm told. Would you like to?
no subject
[she sips hers as well, giggling a little at the fizz]
I would love to.
no subject
Then it would be my honor to accompany you, my lady. Shall we?
no subject
We shall. It's been far too long since I danced.
no subject
Do they have parties like this in Westeros?
no subject
We used to. Then, the Sparrows took control of the Faith and the Crown and such things were dismissed as frivolity.
no subject
[If he's understanding correctly, a very conservative group took over.]
Rest assured that will never happen here.
no subject
[a very, very, very conservative religious group took over. they even imprisoned Margaery's brother for being gay and Margaery herself for lying to protect him]
That's good. Your home country seems lovely.
no subject
[He smiles. They are - for the moment - in that country, and Rhy feels at home in a way he never has in Hadriel.]
Oh, things aren't perfect, but my father is a fine King, and my mother is widely loved.
no subject
[Marg also feels more at home in this sort of environment. all of the technology at Hadriel confuses her]
Few things are perfect, but it sounds like you have a fine ruling family.
no subject
[The threats, when they come, are from outside the kingdom.]
You can forget your troubles for now. They won't follow you here.
no subject
[Westeros had no need for outside invasions, it had problems enough on its own]
I am glad to hear it. If only it were so elsewhere.
no subject
[He laughs.]
Do your people celebrate such things?
no subject
[she smiles warmly]
Somewhat. We celebrate our Name Day more than we do the date of our birth. A Name Day usually comes a week after one is born, when it seems sure that the child will be well.
no subject
[Rhy's kingdom isn't perfect, but infant death isn't such a fact of life.]
Still, a celebration is a celebration, regardless of the reason.
no subject
[Westeros is backwards in a lot of ways]
I always loved my Name Days. When I was at Highgarden, we'd have feasts with singers and jugglers and a course for each year of my age.
