Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for November
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: November 10th-15th
Warnings: Sick beats.

You wake up, confused and alone and maybe a little chilly if you forgot your coat. You're on the floor of a large arena, and above you, stretching up high, is the stone ceiling trapping you in this city. Welcome to Hadriel! You'll have a great time here.

Provided you manage to escape the pack of velociraptors that have arrived with you. They seem to have gotten used to this place a little faster than the rest of the new arrivals - or maybe they're just hungry. They're scary, smart, and very fast - plus they've got those cool three-inch claws designed specifically to tear their prey open. Add to that teeth, muscles, and plenty of clever pack tactics, and you might be in a little bit of trouble.

Maybe you can distract them with a little music, though? Scattered around the arena, you can find some stereos and boom boxes. They won't pick up any radio stations, just static, but don't worry! If you're jonesing for a good tune, you can find some CDs and good old fashioned cassette tapes lying around, too. Everything you need for a sweet dance party! Maybe the velociraptors will be into it. Or maybe you'll just get eaten.

If you manage to avoid being chewed on by sharp teeth, and get out of the colosseums, there's plenty to do. Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

I don't know about that, luck can come in pretty handy. ( he flashes a grin with that— ) Though probably not to decipher any of these.

( he places a book on the table, frowning this time. he sure hasn't had any luck with it, at least. )

Well, I won't deny it has the occasional use [Gonna play it down here] but it's still a pretty worthless talent. Not something you can improve on through hard work. And certainly not something that can magically make you understand stuff like this.

[And he places the book back in its place with a small sigh.]

Maybe not, but it is a perk, at least. ( look how optimistic he's being! see? this is how you do it, komaeda. )

Were you looking for anything in particular?

[Oh, he does sometimes try to spin things in an optimistic manner. Just the way he does it is actually pretty horrifying.

But let's not talk about his luck because it's really boring! And he's looking for information anyway.]

Oh, sort of! I've read the information on the phones and had a small hope that I would find something in this library too. Guess I was wrong, though.

It looks like I'm going to have to keep asking around instead.

Hmm. ( there's a side glance at some of those less-than-helpful books on the shelves. )

That's true, talking to the people trapped here is usually the best way to get a feel for the place, if you're new.

... Are you? ( akira hadn't run into him yet, at least. )

[He nods.] I arrived here a few hours ago so I'm trying to familiarise myself with this place. It's certainly a fascinating one! People from different worlds, pulled into this one by a Door and ending up in a city controlled by gods. And no apparent way to voluntarily go back home yet. What an overwhelming and frightening situation to be in!

[He doesn't sound very scared though. He sounds a little excited, actually.]

( picking up on that tone, akira seems to tilt his head just... slightly to the side. ) It definitely is... something.

At least they're generous enough to provide us with the basics though, what with the whole thrust into a new reality gig. ( and finally, thinking that this guy can't be too much of a threat... he reaches out, offering a hand. )

Akira. Kurusu, Akira.

Yep. The people who managed to gather this information and post it on the network have been really kind and helpful. I should thank them if I meet them. With information like that, I'm sure everyone can work together to leave this place. We can't give up hope yet!

[Yep. Still excited. And while he is still excited, Komaeda takes Akira's hand.] Anyway, where are my manners? I'm Komaeda Nagito. Pleased to meet you. Call me what you wish!

Komaeda it is. ( and he nods shaking that hand with a strong grip and then releasing it. looking off into the rows of books, akira was reminded of all the books he liked to read on what had become his daily commute to school. )
