Event Log: End of Arc 2

What: The event log for the End of Arc 2

Warnings: A full-scale battle, including character death, NPC death, and various other ways to suffer

It was bound to happen. The Null warned you, after all, and this has been building for awhile - and now it's here. First comes the initial attack, the agents of the Null attacking Hope's temple. Then, an SOS, warning the city of what's happened: a betrayal, and Hope being injured. Luckily for everyone, thanks to the actions of his guards Hope survives the attack. Unluckily, his attacker, the goddess Delight, escapes and lets the Null in.

Flooding into the cave, the Null will attack anyone who they believe is resisting them. They'll destroy buildings and deploy dangerous crowd control weapons, in addition to their sheer strength and speed. Confusion empties the monsters in the tunnels into the city, to help distract the Null. Some gods fight, others provide safe havens, but everyone is in danger.

After about a week and a half of the attack, Fear summons enough power to teleport the city. This stops any new Null from arriving through the tunnels, but the remaining Null must be hunted down and destroyed, or else they'll signal their location to the rest of their species. The danger will lessen as Null are taken out, but things won't really be safe until Fear moves the city again, so don't get too comfortable.

What will you do? Run and hide? Fight? Help the fighters? Turn on the gods yourself? Whatever you do, it's time to make a decision.

You couldn't find a healer or something? What about that guy, Pell? Or, uh... Will? He knows healing magic, right?

Couldn't fix all of it.

[Ephemera tips his head back. Breathes.]

He'll live.

[evocation]

[Kyna bites her lip, not sure what to say.]

At least he's safe, right?

[requiemshark]

Yeah.

[There's not much more to say. Ephemera shakes his head.]

You should be wearing body armor. We're going to be fighting for a while.

[evocation]

[She wrinkles her nose a little.]

Is there a body armor depot I missed somewhere?

[requiemshark]

[....point. Ephemera hums to himself.]

Get Washington to make you some. A chest plate, at least.

[evocation]

[Kyna didn't even know Wash knew how to make armor, but rather than bringing that up, she decides to be a brat instead.]

Are you worried about me, Ephemera?

[requiemshark]

[Ephemera scowls at her. Unfortunately, the helmet hides the expression.]

No.

[evocation]

So you're just super into body armor, huh?

[requiemshark]

Everyone should be wearing body armor. Don't act I'm the weird one.

[evocation]

Uh huh.

[Kyna's giving him a shit eating grin, and unfortunately for him, there's no helmet to hide it.]

I'm awesome. You can admit it. I won't tell.

[requiemshark]

[Why. Why is this his life.]

Why not. You clearly need the ego boost.

[evocation]

[Kyna clicks her tongue, but she doesn't look too offended.]

You're such a dick. No one has armor like that where I'm from.

[requiemshark]

[Ephemera flips her off, though the gesture is half-hearted.]

They should.

[evocation]

[She sticks her tongue out at him. Mature.]

I'll take magic over crazy armor, thanks. That shit looks uncomfortable.

[Oh, really? That's where they're going?

Ephemera flips her off again.]

Fuck you too. I like not being shot.

[evocation]

[Kyna laughs.]

God, chill. I've never been shot anyway. Shield spells are pretty awesome.

[requiemshark]

[He also has an awesome shield. So there.]

Uh huh. Sure. Let me know how that goes for you.

[evocation]

Okay. Do you want hourly updates or should I just stick to every day?

[requiemshark]

Daily.

[He's kidding. Mostly.]

Stick with Washington, if you can. He's a good human shield.

[evocation]

[He might be kidding, but she's going to send him over the top daily updates anyway. She rolls her eyes.]

What, so I can't use you as one?

[requiemshark]

[Ephemera turns his head slightly.]

We haven't trained together. At least you know Washington. It's better than nothing.

[evocation]

I'm kidding. I don't want to use either of you as a human shield. That's fucked up.

[requiemshark]

Why not?

[It's a genuine question.]

We'd survive it, with our armor.
