By now, the gods have probably done enough weird crap to you while you're asleep for you to be a little suspicious- but it's not like you can just not sleep, especially when there are a few supernatural forces making your eyes droopy and your body feel heavy.

And now, when you fall asleep, you'll wake up somewhere else and you'll likely have quite a different temperament- you'll be younger, maybe a little more naive and innocent, and you won't exactly remember all the wild stuff that's happened to your adult self. Maybe now you'll be a little more trusting and emotional, hm? The gods could definitely use a little boost in power, and what better way to do it than to harness the power of overemotional kiddos!

Or maybe you aren't affected at all and find yourself surrounded by youths. What are you going to do when your best friend doesn't know how to cook for themselves? Or your bitter rival is throwing a temper tantrum because they broke their favorite toy? Nobody asked for this kind of responsibility, but think about what would happen if nobody was around to take care of these babies...

[Kravitz isn't an idiot. He's very, very smart.

...Book smart. Unfortunately for him, he's never been conned before.]

Um... I don't really have much. Almost nothing. What do you want?

[A kid wasn't really what she'd been fishing for, thus she's blowing a bit of hair out of her face and resisting the urge to roll her eyes.]

How much were your shoes? Or, I don't know, got some kind of jewelry or something? I don't play for free, sorry~ [Those words are dripping with disdain already.]

My shoes...?

[He looks down at his feet, eyebrows raised. What a weird request. Does she collect shoes??]

I don't know. My mother bought them for me.

[They certainly look very nice. Hardly sturdy, but surprisingly clean for something a child has worn, and definitely well made. They'd fetch a decent price.]

[Good, good. That means they're absolutely good quality and she's turning her disgust with him to a sickly sweet grin, just kicking her legs from her perch.]

If you're willing to part with them if you lose, then we can play. It's really simple, all you gotta do is pick a number, color, or both on this wheel, then I'll spin it. If it lands on whatever you called, then you get a prize for your trouble.

And I have some rather valuable little treasures in my bag. Jewelry, baubles, stuff that's really pretty and really expensive~

[Kravitz doesn't like the grin. It feels like eating way too many sweets and getting a stomach ache.

But she's just a kid like him, and even though he doesn't care about how valuable the prizes might be, he's still interested. It sounds kind of fun. What if he wins something rare? Maybe he can show it off to Taako!]

Okay. I want to play.

[He bites his lip, then points.]

I'll pick blue.

[If only he knew how right he really was to not like that grin. But either way she's nodding once enthusiastically at that choice and is cooing a little to herself as she tosses the ball in her hand a few times.]

Blue, then~

[With that she's using her free hand to spin the wheel and toss the ball gently at an angle into it. That wheel is going around for a little bit before it's finally stopping, the ball firmly in a red spot instead.]

Oh, dear, what a sad turn of events! It's red. You lose~ Your shoes, my dear!

[Kravitz's face falls, and he looks incredibly disappointed.]

Hey, hang on! Is that it? Can't I try again?
