By now, the gods have probably done enough weird crap to you while you're asleep for you to be a little suspicious- but it's not like you can just not sleep, especially when there are a few supernatural forces making your eyes droopy and your body feel heavy.

And now, when you fall asleep, you'll wake up somewhere else and you'll likely have quite a different temperament- you'll be younger, maybe a little more naive and innocent, and you won't exactly remember all the wild stuff that's happened to your adult self. Maybe now you'll be a little more trusting and emotional, hm? The gods could definitely use a little boost in power, and what better way to do it than to harness the power of overemotional kiddos!

Or maybe you aren't affected at all and find yourself surrounded by youths. What are you going to do when your best friend doesn't know how to cook for themselves? Or your bitter rival is throwing a temper tantrum because they broke their favorite toy? Nobody asked for this kind of responsibility, but think about what would happen if nobody was around to take care of these babies...

Yep. [ He agrees ]

Cano is a Quendi! Is... what we are? [ He considers that statement ] Cano's people are... Noldor. But only those of us who follow grandfather. All of us together are Quendi! Atto says it means 'people who speak'. There's us Noldor, and there's Granduncle Ingwe's Vanyar, and Granduncle Olwe's Teleri. And Atto says there even more on the other side of the sea, too.

I don't know all those words either. There's too many to remember. Ho do you know them all?

Cano is Quendi. [ He shrugs at her helplessly ]

We talks a lot? And we has to learn a lot of words.

I guess that kinda makes sense. There's still too many. I'd forget them all.

[ He laughs cheerfully ]

Cano says that too! But Atto says that we have lots of time to learn, so's we should do our best.

Okay, I guess. But how don't you get confused?

Practice! [ He says cheerfully ]

Cano sometimes forgets words, but it's easier, if you practice.

If you say so. It sounds hard.

[ He sighs ]

Cano has to attend lessons every other day. They're boring.

You could run away too. Then you don't have to go to school.

[childofthemusic]

Cano has tried, but Nelyo is very good at finding me.

[ He sighs ]

Amil says it's because he's my older brother, and he says he has tried all the best hiding places already.

I guess it's nice they look.

[ He hugs her again, just a quick one, this time ]
