By now, the gods have probably done enough weird crap to you while you're asleep for you to be a little suspicious- but it's not like you can just not sleep, especially when there are a few supernatural forces making your eyes droopy and your body feel heavy.
And now, when you fall asleep, you'll wake up somewhere else and you'll likely have quite a different temperament- you'll be younger, maybe a little more naive and innocent, and you won't exactly remember all the wild stuff that's happened to your adult self. Maybe now you'll be a little more trusting and emotional, hm? The gods could definitely use a little boost in power, and what better way to do it than to harness the power of overemotional kiddos!
Or maybe you aren't affected at all and find yourself surrounded by youths. What are you going to do when your best friend doesn't know how to cook for themselves? Or your bitter rival is throwing a temper tantrum because they broke their favorite toy? Nobody asked for this kind of responsibility, but think about what would happen if nobody was around to take care of these babies...► This log covers January 23rd-Feb 1st.

Okay. You know how to use the phones here, right? Just in case you ever change your mind or need something.
[She sits quietly for a moment, thinking about how complicated life in Hadriel can be for her, let alone a kid. She can't simply leave him defenseless.]
Do you have a place to stay while you're here? Food and safe water? Weapons?

[He hasn't seen any phones, even though he's looked; his Hadriel communicator is with his real self, and child Lance is used to pay phones and the like. But at her questions he shakes his head, answering no to all of them, and that starts to kind of remind him just how unprepared he is for being here. He's been ignoring it by exploring, but...
He takes a deep breath, trying to remain calm.]
I-I don't.

[Abigail doesn't want him upset, especially not in his current position, She moves a little further out on her branch. She's not sure what her plan is. She doubts she could catch him if he fell or broke his branch. Maybe just be being closer, she can keep him calm.]
It's okay. We can get you what you need. You can stay with me and my friend Will. Or in an apartment of your own. Let's get down and then I can show you around.

But her offer is reassuring, especially because she gives the option of staying in his own place; nothing against her or her friend, but the idea of staying with people he doesn't know is terrifying. Climbing down and getting some supplies and finding him somewhere to stay is a set of simple goals, though, and so after a few moments he nods, calming a little. Right. He can handle this.]
O-Okay. I'm going to climb down now.
no subject
Okay. I'll climb down too and we'll meet at the bottom.
[She starts to descend, trying to find a balance where she can keep her eye on him and not make him feel as if she's staring. When she's closer to the ground, she leaps off a branch, landing on her feet and looks up to check on his progress.]
How are you doing?
no subject
[He can climb down, even if it might be a little tricker than climbing up. But he sets around doing so carefully, staying close to the trunk of the tree and therefore ending up using the strongest portions of the branches automatically; fortunately this means he's able to descend more or less safely. Although Abigail reaches the ground first, he's only a short distance behind and looks down at her at her question.]
I'm almost there.
[And focusing on the climbing has helped him calm down too, so he sounds a lot more relaxed and soon finishes descending, dropping a few feet to the ground and looking pleased with himself.]
Did it!

Great job!
[She wonders what to show him first. Her first thought is weapons; the paranoia in her enough to always see that as most important. This kid doesn't seem like he'd know how to use them and that can be more dangerous than not having them. She decides food, water and shelter should be her top concerns.]
Have you seen much of Hadriel?
no subject
Not really. I met a few people and looked through a store but um, I haven't really figured out where anything is. I've just been exploring.
no subject
[She starts to lead the way]
Who have you met?
no subject
[He says it politely and formally, but he means it. He appreciates it, especially since she still seems willing to let him stay in his own place for now. As for the question, he has to think about it for a moment as he follows her, trying to recall all the names.]
Um... Ephemera, George, Michael, Kyna, and David.
[He thinks that's everyone so far. Things have kind of been a bit a stressful blur, after all.]
no subject
It's tricky to explain that she knows him from a shared dream and doesn't want to alarm Lance as to how this place can become even stranger. She feels a need to protect him from that.]
no subject
[It's probably for the best to leave that sort of weirdness out for now, yeah. This place is already too weird.]
no subject
[The possibility of being attacked by a monster or contracting a bizarre illness are left out too. She's trying to keep it positive.]
