By now, the gods have probably done enough weird crap to you while you're asleep for you to be a little suspicious- but it's not like you can just not sleep, especially when there are a few supernatural forces making your eyes droopy and your body feel heavy.

And now, when you fall asleep, you'll wake up somewhere else and you'll likely have quite a different temperament- you'll be younger, maybe a little more naive and innocent, and you won't exactly remember all the wild stuff that's happened to your adult self. Maybe now you'll be a little more trusting and emotional, hm? The gods could definitely use a little boost in power, and what better way to do it than to harness the power of overemotional kiddos!

Or maybe you aren't affected at all and find yourself surrounded by youths. What are you going to do when your best friend doesn't know how to cook for themselves? Or your bitter rival is throwing a temper tantrum because they broke their favorite toy? Nobody asked for this kind of responsibility, but think about what would happen if nobody was around to take care of these babies...

It's not dumb! What do they do in your world that's so much better?

We don't go around rewarding people for hurting each other for no purpose. Good soldiers don't waste their energy on that, and nonetheless, Kings wouldn't be so foolish to put themselves in danger like that.

I'd rather play a good game of Senet.

They're not soldiers, they're knights. Participating in tourneys is part of the chivalric tradition. And kings have participated, to show their people their strength. Strength is respected in Westeros.

I'm not going to make fun of your country's traditions. Also, I want my dagger back.

He's not about to take his words back, it's not his fault she lives in such uncivilized world. Figures she'd want the dagger back just from a little disagreement, she might be just as savage the people from her realm.

and it's not her fault, either. the Tyrells are actually one of the more civilized Houses. he should be counting himself lucky he didn't encounter a Greyjoy or a Bolton or a Frey.

she holds out a hand in expectation]

Take it and leave. You can find your own food from now on!
