What: The event log for the Flu Season event
Where: All over the city
When: March 20th-March 30th
Warnings: Gross sneezing, sick people, and paranoia
It starts with a cough, a sneeze, a sore throat - something small and simple, easily ignored. But then your symptoms get worse. It's probably been awhile since you've been sick, that sort of thing doesn't usually happen here. You might be able to raid the shops for some tissues and tea before it gets too bad, and hopefully you've got a friend to help out until you get better. Surely it'll be over soon, right?
Until the fever sets in, and you start to understand why your friend is really there. They don't want to take care of you. They want to make sure this is the last anyone will ever see of you. They want to learn all your secrets. They want to steal your most precious possession. You know they're plotting against you, you know they're keeping something from you. What will you do to find out what it is?
Then, as the sickness fades, you realize it was all in your mind. Let's hope you didn't do or say anything too awful. But that friend of yours... they seem to have picked up your cough. Maybe you should help them out?► This log covers March 20th-March 30th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well

► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If your paranoia ends in murder, please let us know here.

But eventually he couldn't deny it and went to his room, seeking sleep in the hopes of staving off the worst of memories and images that he knew would just do more harm.
"Let me sleep, Tyelko," he grumbled at the image of a brother who shouldn't be there, but was poking at him nonetheless, pulling the blanket over his head.

"Please...I tried, I tried!"
no subject
"You did all you could, Kano, let us help?"
Don't mind big bro crawling into bed with you!
no subject
"I tried, Nelyo. I really did. I wanted to save you. I couldn't!"
Fingon did it Curufin's shadow says callously.

The eldest of them turned his attention to Maglor and tucked his brother's head under his chin, pulling him close.
"Shh, I know, Kano. I did not want you to come after me. You did what needed done."

Everyone leaves Caranthir says.
"I didn't mean to fail you, Nelyo."

But first - she needed to prepare sufficient food. While a nice stew was cooking in the kitchen, she finally visited said Elf's bedroom, rapping politely on the door.
"Maedhros? May I come in?"
no subject
"Only if you do not mind little brothers harassing you."
no subject
It was probably best to play along. High fevers caused all sorts of nasty side effects. She let herself into the room and glanced around, confirming her suspicions.
"I am making you a stew. It should give you some of your strength back." she eyed the mess that was his blanket and set about tucking him in properly. He didn't need to catch a chill in his condition. When she was finished, she brushed back the hair from his forehead to check his temperature.

Maedhros peeked out from under the blanket when tucked back in and tried for a smile, ignoring the leer from Celegorm aimed at Sansa. His eyes were fever-bright and sweat beaded his brow, but he didn't protest her touch.
"You are too kind, Sansa," he murmured.
no subject
"And you are burning up." she left him briefly to gather a basin of cool water and a cloth. After soaking the cloth, she laid it over his forehead.
"Are your brothers behaving themselves?" as if brothers ever did, right? She could distract him with some funny stories if he needed them.

"It's just me," he shakes his head and murmurs hoarsely. "Still not sleeping, are you?"
no subject
"Better than Tyelko." Ignoring that mocking snort from the shadow, naturally.
"Is it possible to sleep too much?" No, he hadn't been able to manage that much sleep.
no subject
"It might be best to sleep through this whole affair if you can." He shrugged slightly, heavy limbs making each movement ungainly. "Need anything? I'm still not so bad...."
no subject
The voice was right. He was never good enough for Fingon.
"Only your company, if you can stand it?"
no subject
"Always," he said, tilting his head up to press a kiss of Maedhros' brow. "I always want your company."
no subject
You can sleep after you've had some of this broth. Come, it will only take a moment.
no subject
As you wish. Did you make it for everyone?
no subject
Yes, there should be enough to last us days. Hopefully, this illness won't last that long, but just in case.
no subject
You are good to us, I thank you.
no subject
It's the very least I can do after how very good all of you have been to me.

Elf House
"Tyelko's not here, but I am. Can I come in?"
no subject
A fever-bright eye peered at the door as Maedhros debated if Curufin was truly there or not. But it didn't matter enough to deny entrance.
"Curvo? Of course you may." He would welcome all his brothers.
no subject
When Maedhros opened the door, Curufin smiled at him. "It sounds as though you have a whole army in there! I'll keep you company, though, even though I'm not an army, just one live brother."
He came in, looked around, didn't see Maedhros' ghosts -- though he knew that Maedhros did. However, he had the sovereign remedy for phantoms -- food and drink! He was carrying a tray of sandwiches and tea. "Hungry?"
no subject
He levered himself up, making room for his brother to sit with him, and beckoned welcome. "I should eat." Even when he didn't want to.
"Thank you, Curvo."
