Intro Log: Fly, My Pretties!

What: The intro log for May
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: May 10th-14th
Warnings: Flying monkeys! New friends! Prosthetic limbs!

Here in Hadriel, we do introductions right. That means dumping you on the ground of an old Roman-style Colosseum with a bunch of scary monsters and also a bunch of weird shit. Your monster of the day happens to be Winged Monkeys, more commonly known as flying monkeys, from the Wizard of Oz and affiliated stories!

As you may have been able to guess, these creatures can fly and they're rather intelligent- intelligent enough to wield spears and daggers as crude weapons and strong enough to pick someone right up off the ground and fly with them to a perch, where they'll... you know, stab them with their knives and stuff.

Why? We don't know. It's Hadriel.

Just in case you lose a couple of limbs in the process of escaping these critters, we've got you covered. Scattered around the newbies are prosthetic limbs for various body parts. These limbs are all fully functional, even if they look a bit... odd, so if you've lost an arm or two, or a leg, or even a pinkie finger, feel free to grab one and try to figure out how to use it!

Good job dealing with those monkeys! It's kind of a weird thing to be threatening, but clearly someone was afraid of them once. Once you're done, you can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

"Hadriel is in a cave."

He reminds them both, glancing around;

"Unless a Hadriel is just a name for a species of kidnapping awful cities."

He could see it being a category thing.

[uptightness]

"In a ca-" But her voice tapers off for a moment. Her mind turns back to a previous conversation that she has had, and what she's read. Her lips do twitch at his awful city comment, as that would be pretty horrible.

"It was in a cave. Everyone came to the surface a time back." As to the exact time, she can't say that. "Same awful city, with a face lift."

"Same awful city."

He echoes, and looks around them in utter, exhausted resignation. Sounds about right.

"So objecting to being back is obviously useless then."

[uptightness]

"Objecting to me is useless." That wry tone to her voice. He could, but it's not like Carolina's going to put up with it either. As to objecting to anyone else... Not like there seems to be anyone that you can really lodge a complaint to that will actually take it under consideration or do anything about it. "Likely some changes though, if you remember living underground."

He breathes in, then out, finding his centre, for all that the hulk has been strangely distant since he arrived.

Fine.

"What should I know?"

[uptightness]

"Well." Based on what she has read, and since he seems to only recall living underground, she gives a very very basic timeline of things that have happened since they came to the surface. "Or so I've been told. I arrived not that long ago."

She does pause, before adding. "There is a damaged Null about. It used the devices a while back to post."

"Interesting."

He's going to have to find it.

"All right- thank you for the help."

But it's probably time for him to get going, to find that first place to stay, and search out the people he once knew.

[uptightness]

She likely would have given him a good long look had she known that he wanted to go find it. Then again, they had their own reasons for staying away from it. Until they had a way to protect themselves anyway. Killing people wasn't something that Carolina wanted to do. "No problem. Here's hoping that things are better, if even slightly, than before."
