Intro Log: Fly, My Pretties!

What: The intro log for May
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: May 10th-14th
Warnings: Flying monkeys! New friends! Prosthetic limbs!

Here in Hadriel, we do introductions right. That means dumping you on the ground of an old Roman-style Colosseum with a bunch of scary monsters and also a bunch of weird shit. Your monster of the day happens to be Winged Monkeys, more commonly known as flying monkeys, from the Wizard of Oz and affiliated stories!

As you may have been able to guess, these creatures can fly and they're rather intelligent- intelligent enough to wield spears and daggers as crude weapons and strong enough to pick someone right up off the ground and fly with them to a perch, where they'll... you know, stab them with their knives and stuff.

Why? We don't know. It's Hadriel.

Just in case you lose a couple of limbs in the process of escaping these critters, we've got you covered. Scattered around the newbies are prosthetic limbs for various body parts. These limbs are all fully functional, even if they look a bit... odd, so if you've lost an arm or two, or a leg, or even a pinkie finger, feel free to grab one and try to figure out how to use it!

Good job dealing with those monkeys! It's kind of a weird thing to be threatening, but clearly someone was afraid of them once. Once you're done, you can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

[It takes a moment for Kiran to realize the man is speaking, and speaking in his direction at that. He ends up taking a few more paces towards him before he stops and stares at the man's profile.

Oh, er. He noticed he was following him. He'd thought he was staying far enough behind, but apparently not.]

Uh... you're talking to me?

[He tries to play it cool, but he can't help but let his brow furrow slightly. Maybe he's still pissed like earlier. That could be bad.]

S-Sorry. I'm not trying to pull anything, don't worry.

[ Kylo waits, unmoving, for the boy to close the distance between them, pulling his hand away from the weapon during the approach. ]

We wouldn’t be having this conversation if you were.

[ A threat spoke seriously but without much anger behind the words. Or concern. While the Force has proven... imperfect when it comes to understanding the abilities of those in this place, he’s been given little reason to doubt his own strength or instincts.

With that said, he tilts his head towards the stranger expectantly. If there is a purpose for this pursuit, now would be the time to explain. ]

[Kiran gives him a light shrug of his shoulders. There's no purpose to it, of course, other than Kiran indulging in his own curiosity. But the man doesn't seem particularly angry or confrontational, which puts his earlier worry at ease.

Should he bother telling him he was watching him earlier? Kiran has no intentions of scolding him over it or something. He's pretty much just... wondering what his deal is. Maybe he walks off, but maybe not.]

I'm guessing you're new. You don't need to worry about the people around here trying to mess with you. It's everything else about this place that sucks.

[He shifts his weight to one foot and watches him for a moment.] Where are you going?

I find that difficult to believe.

[ Human nature rarely changes without the proper stimulus and order enforcing it and, thus far, this place leans toward the chaotic. A disorder only encouraged by the supposed gods and rulers for their own gain. Such a state is likely to bring out the worst of the populace — not the best.

Yay pessimism. ]

The guide mentioned accommodations. I’ve yet to locate a suitable one.
