Intro Log: Fly, My Pretties!

What: The intro log for May
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: May 10th-14th
Warnings: Flying monkeys! New friends! Prosthetic limbs!

Here in Hadriel, we do introductions right. That means dumping you on the ground of an old Roman-style Colosseum with a bunch of scary monsters and also a bunch of weird shit. Your monster of the day happens to be Winged Monkeys, more commonly known as flying monkeys, from the Wizard of Oz and affiliated stories!

As you may have been able to guess, these creatures can fly and they're rather intelligent- intelligent enough to wield spears and daggers as crude weapons and strong enough to pick someone right up off the ground and fly with them to a perch, where they'll... you know, stab them with their knives and stuff.

Why? We don't know. It's Hadriel.

Just in case you lose a couple of limbs in the process of escaping these critters, we've got you covered. Scattered around the newbies are prosthetic limbs for various body parts. These limbs are all fully functional, even if they look a bit... odd, so if you've lost an arm or two, or a leg, or even a pinkie finger, feel free to grab one and try to figure out how to use it!

Good job dealing with those monkeys! It's kind of a weird thing to be threatening, but clearly someone was afraid of them once. Once you're done, you can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

[Kravitz hears his real actual voice, and immediately all the tension melts out of his shoulders, until it's as though it wasn't there in the first place.

Taako might not get the chance to go into his arms, because Kravitz is fucking portaling up there, stepping out only feet from Taako to immediately pick him up in a bone crushing hug. He sighs in relief, and pulls back to plant what was likely going to be a smooch to end all smooches on Taako's lips- only to spot Lup beside him, and then without putting much thought to the matter, he's picking her up as well. Fuck it.]

You're not allowed to leave us ever again. It was exceptionally, exceptionally rude of you.

[Kravitz is joking, of course, but he's also not at all. His voice is thick with emotion, and his cheek, pressed against Taako's, is wet. It's gonna be awhile before he lets go of them.]

[Lup is there next to her twin, casually bumping hips when the familiar sound of a portal ripping open catches her ears. Before she can even react, her twin is being hefted up into his boyfriend's arms, crushed into a hug. And it's sweet, Lup not even minding the interruption. Her heart just feels so intensely happy and full to have Taako back, especially with the incredible news he returned to Hadriel with.

She half expects Kravitz to ask her if he can whisk Taako away somewhere private so the two can get their smooching on, but instead the grim reaper sweeps her up into the hug, holding the two twins tight against him. That 'us' leaves Lup laughing brightly, something warm blossoming within her chest, before she's throwing her arms around both of them, head bumping against Taako's while her fingers curl affectionately into Kravitz's hair.]

Krav has it right, 'Ko! No leaving the two of us again. You're banned!

[pocketspa]

[He's almost surprised as Kravitz just appears, and he's sitting up to greet him when he and Lup are up and close. He laughs, not sure what to do with his arms or the rest of him even, and he tilts his head against Kravitz' as he's chastised.]

What, I can't have Taako Time for a little while without all you nerds? Jeez. Guess I'll have to fit you into my spa day schedule or something.

[Wait, wait-- he pulls his head back, looking at Lup and Kravitz from his half-crushed position he absolutely doesn't mind.]

Wait, are you like, friends now?? Jeez Krav, I'm gone for ten minutes and you go for my twin?

[As soon as Lup texted him the news, Barry dropped everything he was doing and started running over to the Horny House. Taako's back. He's been holding out hope ever since Lup texted him in the middle of the night when he first disappeared, how she'd nearly fallen apart in his arms, unable to meditate, sick with worry that he wouldn't come back.

They've seen so many friends and family members disappear without a word, without a trace. Some come back. Some don't. Barry has been praying the Door would be merciful this time.

Thankfully he's here. He's with Lup. And, as Barry finds as he barrels in the door of his old home and sprints up the stairs, he's with Kravitz too. He makes a funny sound then, something between a sigh and joyous laughter, watching them all hugging and laughing by the couch.]

T-Taako. [Though he's panting, trying to catch his breath, he's beaming. His eyes sting with tears.] God, it's good t'see ya again, bud. Thought-- W-We thought...

[knockthemdead]

[He laughs so loudly at Taako's teasing that you'd be forgiven for thinking he'd just made the joke of the century. Krav's just so happy, so incredibly full of relief, that it's practically taking him over.]

Don't be so crass!

[The words have no sting whatsoever, and he's still grinning when Barry speaks up and alerts him to his presence.

Kravitz looks over and tilts his head, gesturing for Barry to join them, as both of his arms are currently full of loud, clingy elf twins.]

Well, come on then.

[He's never done a group hug before. He's rather enjoying it.]

[All of this, it just means everything to Lup. Not only having her brother back, but having Barry and Kravitz here for this special moment as well. The three of them are the ones who mean the most, the ones she just couldn't live without in this place. Taako's always been her heart, her reason for ever making it so far, but Barry and now Kravitz are such essential pieces to her life now that it's impossible to consider a future without them.

She just never wants this moment to end.

Kravitz calls for Barry to join and Lup laughs, wiggling one hand out from the reaper's strong grip to motion for her husband to get in on this.]

Get that sweet ass over here, Bluejeans! We got some major cuddling to catch up on. [Her eyes slide to Kravitz, to Taako, right back over to Barry, the corner of her mouth twitching upwards into a grin.] All of us.

[Welcome to the gayest group hug ever.]

[He is utterly smothered under the weight of this and he can't find it in himself to even be mad. It's still just a touch overwhelming, the affection, the outright love, but he refuses to let fear and apprehension and all the worst parts of him ruin this moment. For once, let him be at peace. For once, let him revel in a victory so great it may go unmatched for the rest of time. For once, allow himself happiness.

So Barry appears and he wiggles a few fingers free to cast Mage Hand, which pushes Barry's back lightly towards the group.]

Come on, Barold, come pay tribute to the guy who just saved the universe and rolled back in with you assholes, llllet's go! You all owe me big so better get on the asskissing to make up for lost time.
