Event Log: The Beach Episode
Who: Everyone!
What: The event log for the transition to our new planet!
Where: The city, which has now been fragmented onto four separate islands.
When: May 27th-June 10th
Warnings: Surf's up! If by 'surf', you mean separation from your friends, weird sea creatures, and cold rainfall.

The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.
The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.
And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...► This log covers May 27th-June 10th.

Delmar | West Island | OTA
The bakery is gone. Many of the buildings he recognizes are gone. He cannot locate a good number of his friends. The only small relief is that he was moved with his home and that, being someone who hates wearing less than two layers at any given moment, Delmar is well supplied for such weather when it comes to wardrobe. He's bundled up in his heavy overcoat and green felt hat as he fretfully searches the island looking for familiar people and places.
May 30 - June 10th
Once his friends and his bakery are accounted for, Delmar finds himself drawn to long walks along the shoreline, something from his routine back home that he's missed desperately. True, this is no Rockaway Beach with its dazzling sunset and unbroken horizon but with the gray skies and chilly weather its not too far off the mark of New York in the fall and winter. So he can be found trudging up and down near the water, occasionally reading from a book as he walks, at other times simply carrying it under his arm and staring off into the distance.
He'd be more than glad for company if you'd care to join him.
oops i mean 2nd prompt tho
He sees Delmar easily enough but doesn't rush to catch him, rather closing the distance between them naturally and falling into soft step beside him.
"Hey."

"Oh. Hello there, Jet. Are you alright?"
no subject
"Mm." A nod, the softness of the response almost swept away completely by the sea breeze but followed up with a gentle nod. "'M good. Like this. Never been to the sea."
no subject
"Then you must walk with me!"
This is very important to Delmar.

Jet smiles, and briefly clasps his hand over Delmar's.
"Sure. Both going the same way anyway, right?"
Why not go that way together?
no subject
"Yes. And you can look at the horizon. That is very important." He gestures with his book-holding hand towards the open ocean. "You see people can get some of their best thoughts when they look at the ocean....and sometimes if you look out there long enough things seem...well...better. It seems like you can get through the day."
wow i totally lost this tag
"Talking from somewhere deep, hm?" he says, a little softly, catching a meaning to the words that perhaps Delmar did not intend, and yet...
Jet does understand needing something to just get you through the day.

James used to get upset with him for that. Saying stupid things.
"Why don't you tell me something about yourself, Jet?"
Smoothest transition ever.

May 28th
Hey. You all right?
no subject
Oh! Miss George...it is very good to see you.
no subject
It's good to see you, too. Are you--doing okay?
no subject
I can't find the bakery...I don't know where everyone is....everything has changed....
no subject
We could go looking for it? If you wanted to?
no subject
[Because he very much wants to say yes]

[in the past, she would've minded. but it's been a long almost-year]

May 27th, video
of course her first call is to Delmar]
Delmar? Hello! Where are you?
no subject
[Delmar sounds somewhat panicked, having similarly found the world outside his window strange and different]
I...I am at my apartment. But I...I don't know where anything else is. Where are you?
no subject
I'm on one of the islands, the one with the Sewing Shop on it. I'd gotten up early to get a little work done and found myself stranded. I've done some looking and while we do have the Armory, the Park, and the Guard Headquarters, my home is not on this island.
I'm grateful that you weren't stranded elsewhere away from your home.
no subject
Is there any way for you to get home? What are you going to do for food??
no subject
We've no boats. None that I've seen, at least. About that. . . we do have a shop here. It has little in the way of food, but I should be able to manage if I'm not too greedy.
no subject
[If only he had Harlan's magic, then he could be more useful]
Do you have your sword?
[Though he hates the idea of Margaery fighting, he'd rather she be armed than not]
no subject
[he's already useful just being himself. and she hastens to reassure him]
I do. I also have the wards the elves put in place for me. I should be safe.
no subject
[Delmar learned his lesson about running into danger when the Null invaded]
Is there anyone else you know with you? Any of your friends?
