What: The intro log for July.

As usual, the new arrivals in Hadriel will be waking up on the dirt ground of the colosseum, and as usual, they won't be waking up alone. This month brings coat hangers of all shapes and, uh, sizes strewn about the colloseum floor around all of the new arrivals.
Get up, get out, meet and greet, find some new exciting interior decorating options, but don't forget about the more prominent threat: the (newly) local deathclaws roaming about in the inner halls of the arena. These deathclaws are vicious bipedal creatures with long arms ending in curved talons, horns ripe for goring and, of course, teeth as long as fingers. These animals have been engineered to be as deadly as they can possibly be, so you might want to buddy up before taking one on.
Have you escaped from the deathclaws? Made a few friends? Not died horribly? Great! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers July 10th-15th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Okay, okay. I believe you.
So, let me get this straight. Your goals are to learn about the Door and find a way back home, and in the meantime, you keep the peace and handle any trouble that comes along, right?

Aaah...I dunno, I've never really been part of a team like that before....
[He rubs the back of his neck. The thing is, he's never had to do anything like this. He's not sure working with a bunch of cops is going to go well for him. Still...]
But I guess you guys are my best chance at finding a way out of here, aren't you?
[Ichigo knows he's no genius, and his people skills need work. He's not going to learn how the Door works single-handed, and he doesn't have the raw power to deal with threats on his own anymore. He can't detect disturbances through sensing people's life energy, and while he's yet to meet a normal human who could go toe to toe with him in his current state, Ichigo's known for years now that there were tons of things out there more dangerous than a normal human, and things like that definitely exist here. I don't want to work with people I don't know sounds pretty lame to him in the face of their current predicament. That kind of thinking is both small-minded and frankly embarrassing.]
I dunno if you'll get along with me, and I can't promise I won't decide to leave. Hell, I'll understand if you decide to kick me out. But I guess I can give being on your cop team a try.
And even if I do get kicked off it, you can still count on my help with anything big. Y'know, if you want it.

[Oops. Guess he should have spent more time messing around with this thing.]
This phone's newer than mine. I don't have it completely figured out yet.
[He pulls it out of his pocket and starts poking around, looking for the maps. Juuuuust a second...]
Okay...okay, I think I found it. It's this, right?
[He turns the phone around to show her, yes, a map.]

[Enough that he knows it by name. Interesting.]
Oh, yes. That's correct.
no subject
Huh? Yeah, we've got phones. Your world didn't?
no subject
[By generations.]
It's hard to tell what people are familiar with. That's all.

So you're from the future?! That's pretty cool.

[He's misunderstood.]

No, uh...they're not really habitable. They're all too hot, too cold, or made of gas. We've gone to space -- we just haven't really sent anyone past the moon. I think we've sent unmanned probes out pretty far into the solar system, though.
[Somehow, though, he gets the feeling she won't find that impressive at all...]

[Apparently his world is still in its primitive stage. A shame, but nothing to be done for it.] Not many people here come from a place like mine, I've found.
