Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!
But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.
Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

But wherever that lady vanished to, she'll probably want this thing back. That is, if she wasn't just a total illusion in the first place. Firo decides not to leave it behind, instead holding onto it as he starts exiting the coliseum. He doesn't spare it another look until it starts glowing.]
What..?
no subject
She's immediately looking about, and she almost reaches to grab for the front of Firo's shirt before she recognizes him and realizes he hadn't been the source of her troubles.]
Where is that little green menace?
no subject
When she reappears, he's so stunned that he doesn't even think to ask what the hell just happened; the answer to her question pops out on autopilot while his brain tries to catch up.]
What, the thing that knifed you? It's back in the coliseum.
[That's not really interesting to him, though. He leans in and up, very curious.]
How'd you do that?
no subject
[Maybe. Now that she knows to avoid its knife at all costs. One little blade shouldn't do that much damage.
She rolls her shoulders, getting a quick feel for her body again. How embarrassing, having to reform in front of a human. She shouldn't even have to deal with explaining herself.]
I'm a gem. This form is just light made solid.
no subject
What? Left you there as a rock? You were tiny! What if somebody stepped on you, huh?
[He hears her explanation but none of the words register. As seriously as if it's one of the truths of the universe, he responds:]
That makes no sense.
no subject
[She grumbles this, but he still has something of a point. Gems can't do anything while they're still reforming, and a strong blow from something could have shattered her. Being destroyed by some small green creature with a knife would have been an incredibly embarrassing way to go.
As for her explanation...]
It doesn't have to make sense. That's just how it is.
[She's not taking the time to explain the finer details to some random human, even if he had helped her out.]
no subject
Whatever. You'd just better be careful from now on, because this place is full of those things. Those aren't even the worst it has to throw at you, and I don't think turnin' into a rock is gonna do anything to most of 'em.
no subject
Despite what you saw back there I can take care of myself just fine.
[It's just a matter of learning more about the enemy, or whatever else is wandering around this place. Hopefully the next thing she fights will at least look more threatening.]
no subject
It's just some advice. You're new, aren't you? I woulda' remembered if I'd seen you around here before, and this place is where people always show up. Figured it wouldn't hurt to give you some pointers.
no subject
[Sorry, Firo. She's usually so much ni-- no, no this is about the norm.]
You'd be helping me more if you showed me the way out.
no subject
You think I'd still be hangin' out here if I knew a way out? I've got shit to take care of back home just like everybody else.
There is no way out. You can try the caves, but you'll just get lost or get spat right back where you went in.
no subject
[Is it at least on Earth? She hates to admit it, but her planet of origin would have been better if only for the larger range of movement she was allowed. This place already seems far smaller, and someone like her needs space.]
I'll find a way. I won't be trapped again.
no subject
[Having just come from Alcatraz himself, Firo's curious. Another prison?]
You were in prison before you got here?
no subject
[Once again, details she really doesn't want to go into. In fact she'd rather go on about the finer points of gems for hours than talk about what happened to her before she arrived. It's a very fresh, very sore subject.]
That's not important.
no subject
Hey, I was just askin' 'cause that's where I was myself. People complain about it bein' a prison here, but not all of 'em actually know what that's like.
no subject
At least that's what she'd told herself before.]
And what crime did you commit?
no subject
I made a deal with a jackass.
[It is true. Figures that the one time he gets locked up in a lifetime of bad deeds is for something he didn't actually do.]
no subject
And of course he could be lying for the sake of pity. She has very little of that to give.]
Hmph. Then I suppose you consider this place a reprieve.
no subject
Not exactly. It's nice to be able to move around more, but I had things to take care of back home.
no subject
[What she doesn't like to think about is the fact that she didn't know what she'd do if she was returned back to where she'd come from. She'd been corrupted, her gem trapped. She actually has more freedom here than she had there, but she isn't going to think about it that way. She can't.
This is just an opportunity to return cured, that's all.]
If we can be brought here, we can be brought back.
no subject
[ooc: Sorry for the delay! I’m on hiatus.]
no worries!
[She grits her teeth.]
I'll make it possible.
Thanks! <3
