Well, Hope and Delight are messing with the door again, but at least this time dragons aren't involved, right? This attempt goes a bit better - sure, no one gets sent home, but if everyone will just look under their seats, they'll find a FREE [INSERT SOMETHING YOU MAYBE DIDN'T WANT AT ALL HERE]! Awesome! So nice! Yup, throughout these few days people will be finding things from home - something they loved, something they used all the time, something they hated, something they totally forgot they even had. All sorts of cool stuff!
Well, they might not actually find it. Their neighbor might, or a complete stranger. And who knows where it could turn up? At the park, half-buried? In the Silent Hill zone, kept safe by a horrifying monster? Or hey, maybe in somebody's underwear drawer. Awkward. Better try to find your stuff, or find the owner of whatever weird crap you found. It could be something important.► This log covers October 15th-October 19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you somehow manage to die in this event, please let us know here, and also what the hell?

[Just going to gloss over the fact his roommate couldn't repair it because it's not that she couldn't — it's that he didn't want her making another deal with the gods for the parts she'd need.]
I saw on the network that people are starting to find things, objects that belong to other folks trapped here. I thought you might be able to help me figure out who this belongs to.
[He reaches into his coat with his free hand and pulls out a thin binder of notes -- gamma research. Not Gottlieb's specialty, but perhaps he can point Nick in the right direction.]

A furrow digs between his brow as he steps closer, reaching to take the binder. Stuffing his cane in his elbow, pressed against his side, he fumbles his glasses onto his face and begins to flip through. ]
Yes, hm. Nothing of Newton's or mine, though I had considered, with the Jaegers...
[ Flipping. There go his eyebrows. He hasn't discussed it much with Dr. Banner, what the man had studied, but Newton had mentioned that transformation's purported origins -- some of this looks like -- ]
Well, I'd like to say no, frankly, as I'd like to really read it. I think, however, you are looking for Dr. Banner.
no subject
From the clinic? Haven't actually spoken to him myself, though now I'm curious as to what kind of doctor he is.
no subject
Not, in fact, one with a doctorate in medicine. It is my understanding that only Dr. Tam may lay claim to that. As for Dr. Banner, it's for him to say.
no subject
Well, so long as you think these belong to him. Anyone find anything of yours lately?
no subject
[ Hermann then shakes his head. ]
No, no... I don't know if I should hope, given the nature, but if I were to hope, [ with a bit of uncharacteristic brightness, his expression close to :3, ] I wouldn't say no to one of my handheld chalkboards, I think!
[ ...really, he should hope for his medicine, but... ]
More probably I'd get the wisdom teeth they pulled sixteen years ago. Anything of yours?
no subject
Not me. Can't think of anything I'd want anyway, save for a new leg, maybe.
no subject
[ Only, really, the danger of hoping... nigh certain disappointment. He is less bright in those suggestions, more speculative. ]
no subject
A terminal isn't a bad idea. Could put all the transcripts I'm making from the network on that thing. I'll keep it in mind, in case Hope is ever feeling generous.
no subject
[ As once discussed, their progress at a substitute limited by the available technology. But -- Hermann arcs his eyebrows. ]
You've been keeping transcripts. Ten months worth?
[ As Mr. Valentine had said about half a year, when they met four months ago. ]
no subject
But that's for another time.]
Since a couple of weeks after I got here. Figured they might be useful if the network ever went down, or the gods felt like wiping our communicators. Keeps me busy when I'm at my desk, since we're not exactly swimming in cases to solve.
