Intro Log: I'll Cry If I Want To

What: The intro log for December
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.

Warnings: Angry crying ladies and a bunch of newbies

Good morning, new Hadrielites! What a joy it is to awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, with absolutely no idea where you are or what's going on. As you wake up, confused and possibly a little terrified, you may be angry. You may be frightened. You may be hungry, if you didn't eat a good lunch. You may want to cry.

And it looks like you're not the only one who wants to cry. Along with the newcomers, a number of Witches have come to Hadriel. They stand in one place or wander, crying bitterly, as if their boyfriend has broken up with them or they've lost their puppy. Maybe you're a good person who wants to see if they're okay? Well, you might want to rethink that. Disturb a Witch - which is pretty easy to do - and they'll fly into a rage, attacking you with their sharp claws and tearing your guts out. Good luck trying to get out of the colosseum without running into one!

Don't worry, though. Scattered around is also some stuff that's a little more fun! The Door's theme this month seems to be 'stuff stressed-out executives would put on their desks', and since we've got so many of those, surely you can find a toy or two to play with!

If you've managed to avoid getting clawed to bits and maybe found a cool new distraction or two, congrats! That's the first step to becoming a productive member of Hadriel society! Now, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

Look, those people who were here and came back? You're one of them. If anyone gets all weird about having seen you before that's probably why.

[She doesn't like the way that sounds, that and people playing with their heads one way or another to get those emotions.

Natasha takes the next news with a stony look, processing the information a moment before drinking the rest of her glass in a smooth pull.]

That explains a little. And raises some more questions.

Are you going to ask your questions or just dwell on them?

I was thinking maybe file them away for a better time. Does that count as dwelling?

Possibly, but it's probably well-earned after everything you've had to hear today.

[But she has a lot to think over, and she doubts Connor is going to have much insight into what enemies she might have made here before.

Cashmere is definitely a 10. She's a friend of mine, but bias aside it's still true.

So are you saying that's an objective judgment, or admitting you might give your friends a little bonus there?

Both. Even in spite of the little bonus I gave, she's still objectively a ten.

[She might have to see Matt without his shirt before she agrees he's a ten, though. Scientifically speaking.]

Not going to lie, though, living in a cave sucks. We probably covered that already but it's worth reiterating.

It's come up. I've noticed. Not being able to leave is pretty shitty too, have to say.

That part bothers some of us more than others?

I'm sure some people are from weird dystopian futures.

Possibly. [She can't deny it, at least. And doesn't have an interest in trying to.] I suppose some of them might even be worse than a cave full of monsters.
