Event Log: Why Do You Have To Be Mad?

Who: Everyone participating in the event!
What: The event log for the Rage event!
Where: All around the city
When: December 15th-December 20th
Warnings: None! Well, potentially rage-induced destruction and fighting and maybe a tiny bit of murder? So, nothing out of the ordinary.

December is usually a time of festive holiday cheer... unfortunately, Hadriel isn't the sort of place that respects holidays. Rage has decided that it's time she's given her due and has put on another event! Unfortunately for everyone in the city, this event means that all characters are given a particularly aggravating pet peeve that entirely sets them into a flying rage.

See someone sleeping? They're now the object of your ire. See a tall building with a bunch of windows? Suddenly, all those windows need to be smashed. Fights are breaking out with depressing regularity, and a couple of them might be severe enough to injure someone in a bad way.

Look out for your fellow prisoners in Hadriel, and do try to figure out the categorizations of each person's issue fast- falling into these cycles of anger isn't good for anyone and is bound to make someone mad if you treat them wrong. Conversely, instead you can just find someone who has the same loathing as you and let your feelings amplify one another; after all, the best sort of friendship is one that's formed by mutual hatred!

"Yea?!" Rin yells, throwing punch after punch. "Why do you want to die so damn bad, huh?! Are you that suicidal?!"

Rin throws a kick at Firo's center.

"I. Will not. Kill someone! Especially not some brat who puts his knife away! You won't even put up a real fight. It's pathetic to beg for death."

His voice starts to calm down, but he glares at Firo, huffing each breath out. He gets the inherent sense that something is just wrong here, though he has no idea what.

Being insulted like that, Firo's knuckles turn white as he blocks the kick. He has half a mind to give up on this and try to teach the kid a lesson right now. "You don't get anything, do you? Must be scary, goin' through life with a brain that small."

He steps back and takes out his knife again. Even if it won’t scare the kid, Firo has to show off now to prove that he wasn’t just trying to get out of a fight. "Just shut up and watch."

He considers his palm, then cuts it with the knife. When he takes it out, blood drips out of his hand and off the knife, just as normal.

When it hits the ground, the blood seems to stop for just a split second. Then it reverses into the wound. It only takes a few seconds for the skin to seal up behind it. Good as new.

All through this, Firo watches Rin with an eyebrow raised. He wants to see the reaction.

"Hey, asshole, my brain isn't small!" Jerk! JERK! Seriously, how dare you?!

Still, Rin finds himself obeying for the moment, scowling as he watches Firo cut his hand. At first, his eyes go wide.

"H-hey, what are you d...!" And then he sees the wound reverse. "Holy shit..."

And then he explodes into a smile and his flames diminish. He rushes toward Firo to get a better look, his tail flicking around excitedly.

"Man, that is so cool! Are you a son of Satan, too!? Man, I thought I was the only one that could heal like that! Whoa! Is that why you wanted me to stab you? To show off? Why didn't you just ask, man?!" Nevermind that Firo totally had. Sort of.

Fun fact, Firo. Rin has super speedy healing powers, too. He abuses them frequently.

Firo freezes in place, staring at Rin's smiling face. "You're an immortal?" This is so disappointing. Firo almost pouts when he realizes he's definitely not going to get the reaction he wanted.

If he were a crueler person, he'd consider telling Sato about Rin's immortality--maybe the guy would have some fun. But that's going way too far for their little spat.

He sighs. "The hell're you talking about with Satan? You know that stuff's just made up, right?"

"Well, yea. Sort of. I guess so." Immortal isn't exactly what he would call it. "I've taken some really massive blows... and kind of been impaled, before. And I heal just like you did! Man! You are way cooler than I thought! I'm totally putting you on my list of coolest people ever!"

"Man, I wish Satan were made up." Rin straightens himself, still flicking his tail. "He's the whole reason I... Wait... Y'mean you've seen my flames this whole time, and you didn't know?"

He gives a dumbfounded look. He still has some getting used to that different worlds have different rules, but this is the first time he's been told that his bloodline is just made up.

"Uhh.... Yea, y'know..." He laughs nervously. "You're right, totally made up."

He wants nothing to do with Satan anyway. Why complicate things and scare people off?

Cool?! Firo feels a little thrill of happiness in spite of himself. Sure, he's still completely baffled about the turn this has taken, but he likes when people think he's cool. Those rare times it happens.

Firo shrugs and shakes his head. "I figured it was just some trick."

He looks up at Rin, squinting as he leans in closer. "...So what're you talkin' about with Satan and the flames? And the reason?"

So this kid is probably a bit crazy. Firo raises an eyebrow quizzically; he wants to figure out what the hell Rin is babbling about.

The fish is entirely forgotten.

Ooh, boy... Firo's asking questions. And they're the worst kind. He can't go back on his flames or what he's already said about Satan, but...

"Uhm..." Rin takes a couple steps back, hands up submissively. He gives another nervous laugh. "Reason? What reason? Is that what I said? I meant... uhh... meant..."

He's totally drawing a blank. Coming up with lies on the spot has never been his forte, and he's never been one to think ahead to what he should say in these situations.

Firo slouches into a sigh. The weirder this kid acts, the more curious he becomes. "Come on, spit it out! You were talking a mile a minute a second ago."

Reason? He doesn't even have a guess at what it could be.

And Rin's got nothing. Guess the alternative is to be as vague as possible. He scratches the back of his head and gives a heavy sigh.

"Well... Satan is kind of the reason I have my powers. Most people look at my flames and they can tell that's what it is." The Blue Flames of Satan, and what happened on the Blue Night. No one from this world seems to know it, and he's been grateful for that.
