hadriel_logs | Event Log: Why Do You Have To Be Mad?

Who: Everyone participating in the event!
What: The event log for the Rage event!
Where: All around the city
When: December 15th-December 20th
Warnings: None! Well, potentially rage-induced destruction and fighting and maybe a tiny bit of murder? So, nothing out of the ordinary.

December is usually a time of festive holiday cheer... unfortunately, Hadriel isn't the sort of place that respects holidays. Rage has decided that it's time she's given her due and has put on another event! Unfortunately for everyone in the city, this event means that all characters are given a particularly aggravating pet peeve that entirely sets them into a flying rage.

See someone sleeping? They're now the object of your ire. See a tall building with a bunch of windows? Suddenly, all those windows need to be smashed. Fights are breaking out with depressing regularity, and a couple of them might be severe enough to injure someone in a bad way.

Look out for your fellow prisoners in Hadriel, and do try to figure out the categorizations of each person's issue fast- falling into these cycles of anger isn't good for anyone and is bound to make someone mad if you treat them wrong. Conversely, instead you can just find someone who has the same loathing as you and let your feelings amplify one another; after all, the best sort of friendship is one that's formed by mutual hatred!

More powerful, sure, but I've fought plenty of all powerful beings before... even a god. [Though he'd never lived long enough to see Chaos defeated, they were still making progress anyway. Kain does understand that the whole being divided thing won't make this easy, though. The Warriors of Cosmos had all been called by her, so they were united in one purpose. Here, their purpose is much less clear.] It sounds as if we need to band together better. We won't survive for long if we remain so weak.

Hm. Well. I'll have to keep that in mind. It seems that it'd be worth trying to contact one of them someday. I'd like to hear from them... [He yawns again. Man do his eyes hurt. But he has to keep it together! Sleep is the enemy!]

It'd be different if we were up against a single god, but the longer we're here, the more Hope brings back. I doubt even banding together would make a difference at this point, even with them divided. [ And she won't band together with certain people now as it is. She petty. ]

And we'll survive because they want us and need us to. It doesn't matter what you or I do, how much we fight, or challenge, or play the optimist, we're only here because they need us for our emotions. We live and breathe for them. [ Sharon is basically the opposite of Hope at this point in her life. ] Until they're dead or we're gone.

That's... troubling. Fighting one god is difficult enough, but several at once... [Kain sighs. Chaos had been near impossible to contend with, and he technically hadn't even seen him be defeated. It may not even be possible to defeat a god, he's not sure.]

[Kain stifles a yawn, trying to keep himself focused on what she's saying.] It all sounds so hopeless, when you put it that way. And perhaps it is. They have too much control. It doesn't stop me from wanting to stab them all, but... that's... probably not going to happen anytime soon.

[ It's difficult to imagine going up against the likes of Hope and his ilk, especially considering the control they're capable of exerting over them. It's a bothersome train of thought, but one that derails easily due to her exhaustion. ]

Yeah, I wouldn't try to stab any of them. The only one that's out often is Delight and I think Rage would eviscerate you if you tried to hurt her.

Of course... it would be unwise to...

[Yaaaaaaawwwwwn. Sorry about that, give him a moment. Mmm, his mind is all foggy, all of his thoughts moving so sluggishly. He tries again.]

Unwise. What was I saying? Ah, does it matter? These gods clearly have the upper hand for now. Unfortunately for us.

You aren't feeling tired, are you? [ The word is said with some venom to it along with a narrow of her blue eyes. Sleep is the enemy. ]

Wha- No! No, of course not. How could I ever give in to such a reprehensible thing?

[He eyes her closely in return.]

And you, you're managing to keep yourself from falling prey to it?

I don't think I have. [ She has been, though they've been short naps that she doesn't even realize she's doing them. She's even fallen asleep on her feet once, but that ended with her on the ground, confused as to how she'd gotten there. ]

I just keep myself busy and remind myself that this isn't how I always really feel.

I'm glad to talk to someone else who has some sense about this matter. Most of these people are giving in to that atrocious activity and... actually sleeping.

[He looks so disgusted by the very thought. There's another yawn, and he fights to hold his eyes open, keeping them nice and wide.]

Staying active is a good idea to combat this feeling.

It's the best way to combat just about anything. [ Thoughts. Feelings. Sleep. As long as you keep moving, none of it can catch up with you.

If only that were true. Her nose wrinkles. ] But it feels a little like being tortured.

[ Can't sleep. It's become a physical pain, a need that runs so deep that she wants to crawl out of her own skin; peel back her eyelids so that they may never flutter and she may never dream. She knows these are all thoughts generated by their current situation but they never cease to be startling or disgusting or heartstopping as realization settles just how much you need what you hate. She digs her nails into one of her palms until they pierce the skin, a moment of relief from one type of pain to deal with another. ]

I doubt we have much longer to go. Just have to get through it.

Right... right, of course. We've made it this far, we can prevail.

[Though Kain can agree with that whole torturous notion completely. It feels horrible. His thoughts are so sluggish, his whole body feels that way... his eyes are dry and red, and overall, he's not in such great shape. But sleep is the enemy, one he intends to defeat.]

We have the strength to beat this. We must not give in, whatever may happen.
