Who: Everyone participating in the event!
What: The event log for the Rage event!
Where: All around the city
When: December 15th-December 20th
Warnings: None! Well, potentially rage-induced destruction and fighting and maybe a tiny bit of murder? So, nothing out of the ordinary.

December is usually a time of festive holiday cheer... unfortunately, Hadriel isn't the sort of place that respects holidays. Rage has decided that it's time she's given her due and has put on another event! Unfortunately for everyone in the city, this event means that all characters are given a particularly aggravating pet peeve that entirely sets them into a flying rage.

See someone sleeping? They're now the object of your ire. See a tall building with a bunch of windows? Suddenly, all those windows need to be smashed. Fights are breaking out with depressing regularity, and a couple of them might be severe enough to injure someone in a bad way.

Look out for your fellow prisoners in Hadriel, and do try to figure out the categorizations of each person's issue fast- falling into these cycles of anger isn't good for anyone and is bound to make someone mad if you treat them wrong. Conversely, instead you can just find someone who has the same loathing as you and let your feelings amplify one another; after all, the best sort of friendship is one that's formed by mutual hatred!

"Not a bad name." Sounds a little odd to him, as all he can divine from it is 'definitely not Italian.' But it's still fine. "You didn't take it 'cause his folks aren't yours?"

Firo can understand that kind of thinking, which is why he makes that assumption. Taking the name of your family is one thing, but it'd be strange to take a name that ultimately comes from people you've never met. ...Then again, he supposes his own last name technically comes from someone he never met.

Sorry to disappoint, Firo. Rey and her kin are very not Italian.

She nods, mouth drawing a thin line, glancing away. "They raised him. Not me."

It's a bit of a sore spot, though she wishes it wasn't. It isn't fair to her brother to know any of that.

"I've had a lot of names, but none of them were mine, either. 'Rey' is the only one that's ever belonged to me." That, and 'Fiona', but that one just hurts even more.

"And so that's the one you're hanging onto, huh?"

He can't really imagine switching names at any point, so that makes sense too.

"If it works for you, then there's nothing wrong with whatever you call yourself."

"Yes. I think so."

Maybe she should have a better idea on what she wants, but it's just something she just never considered very often. Mostly because she never dwelled much on what she wants.

She returns her attention to Firo, leaning a hand against the windowpane and shifting her weight. "Mm. Don't really know what works for me. Didn't always have the luxury of being able to make choices for myself."

As if free agency is a 'luxury'. Rey, please.

Firo shrugs. "You have to figure that out yourself. Look at it as an opportunity."

How many people has he known in the same position? Many--including many that he remembers creating "himself" via Szilard. Ennis's brothers never got a chance until their final and fatal choice. Ennis only barely got that chance herself.

From what she knows of her other self from that other world that Muscovy knows both Rey and Firo, it sounds like she had such an opportunity. And while she can say that she has claimed something of a family in maybe a similar way here, she still isn't at the point where she is quite ready to start taking anyone's name yet. She is fond of Firo, though. That much she does know.

"Yes. Maybe. Going to have to think on that for a while."

Since it's clearly not something she thinks about that often as it is.

"Whatever suits you. I never really thought about stuff like that--it just happens. But if you wind up with something you're happy with, then that's all that matters."

He nods firmly to his last point, as if stamping his approval. Even if she thinks hard and winds up deciding to be "Rey Valentine" or something, it's still her choice. Or if she just stays "Rey."

"Thanks for the thought."

She means that, too.

After a moment, her eyes shift, before returning to Firo. "Well, um. Would ask if you want to come in, but you want to kill my fish, so..."

Yeahhh. Awkward.

Firo clenches both fists just at the mention of that little bastard. Before his blood pressure can shoot up enough to make his head explode, he sighs and nods his head.

"Point taken. I guess I'll have to see you some other time."

Much as Rey appreciates Firo's company, this is one of those rare exceptions that sounds like a bad time. Everyone's been acting weird lately.

Of course, not Rey. Rey's anger is perfectly rational. Because fuck sleep. That isn't too weird.

"Some other time, yes. That'd probably be best." She pauses. "So, um. See you around."

She goes to close the window, and considers repositioning Wellingham's place near any windows for the time being.
