Delight volunteering to go off to spy has been a somber moment for Hadriel indeed- but she doesn't want you to be sad for her! As a matter of fact, it's time for joy- and we all know that Delight's favorite way to pass the time is with a party!
So, on the morning of May 24th, she'll be trying to inspire everyone here to get their blood pumping a little in a fun way with a constant stream of partying! To you old timers here, the party will be rather similar to Delight's resurrection event, with a few notable twists.
Don't worry, don't worry- there's still going to be patent-pending Delight Energy Shots at the new bar, but with this party, the longer you go, the harder you go.
See, Rage wants to get in on the action a little too, and what better way than by exerting her own influence on the party and making it the most wild, savage bash you've ever been to? As the party goes on, and as you keep dancing, you find yourself unable to stop. It's not forced, but... you need to keep partying, to keep upping the ante. Before you know it, you've thrown rocks through windows, smashed a bottle over someone's head, and sharpened your pitchfork for that local mob you've always wanted to join.
Be careful out there. It's dangerous to get swept up in on the action- and maybe even more dangerous to try and avoid it. You've read about mob mentalities, haven't you?
Good luck, and happy partying!► This log covers May 24th-June 2n.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you party too hard, go too extreme, and are just too punk rock for livin', please let us know here.

"What, is it a requirement for one of us to want something for us to see each other now?" A brow arches.

Better to be honest, isn't it?

She pulls out a bottle from the bag and hands it over to Maketh. Inside are some painkillers.
Just because she hasn't seen Maketh partake in the festivities doesn't mean that she isn't drinking. It's what she does during these moods.
no subject
Painkillers. Right.
"You're presuming a lot," Maketh says finally. That doesn't mean she's wrong.
no subject
"Am aware how you get when times are rough."
Meaning that, yes, she knows she isn't wrong.
no subject
That's just wonderful. Another mistake that she's realized too late to properly correct.
Maketh rubs her face with a groan.
"Thank you. For the pills. They are--appreciated."
no subject
"Think we've known each other long enough now to recognize a certain pattern to things."
At least, Rey would like to believe so.
no subject
Maketh lets out a slow breath.
"I'm tired. I'm tired and cruel and I say things I don't mean to."
no subject
"Then stop," Rey says simply, like it's as easy as reading a menu. "Stop saying things you don't mean, or being the sort of person you know you'll hate."
Spoken by someone with experience. It's what Rey did -- except the self-loathing part is a bit of a challenge to work through. She at least try to behave like someone who isn't completely reprehensible, and maybe she'll someday come to like that someone. Or come to accept them, in any case.
no subject
It's easy to say a thing like that. Even to mean it with all sincerity. But making it happen - now that's the part she struggles with. Every time it fails.

Rey falls silent for a good long moment as well, before pulling something else out of the bag, which is too big to have carried a bottle of painkillers alone.
She's holding another bottle by the neck this time. With the purple hue of the glass, it's difficult to tell what color the liquid inside is.
"How about we talk about it over a drink?" And then, she adds with a wry smile: "Unfortunately, it's not very alcoholic. Was able to make a little something interesting with what we've got here, though."
no subject
Well. It wasn't painful. Parts of it were even good.
She sighs, rubbing her face. Stars, she's tired.
"All right. We'll drink---whatever that thing is."
no subject
She isn't so much concerned about that with this stuff, though.
"All right. If you'd like to get some glasses while I crack this open..."
Assuming that they're not going the whole nine yards and drinking directly from the bottle. Until a decision has been made, Rey sets it down on the table and starts to twist the opening off.

"Made it. Just found the ingredients in the stores and orchards. Am a little familiar with home distillation, and Firo more so with the wine."
Seeing that he was a bootlegger during the Prohibition, she couldn't have asked for a better 'business partner' in this endeavor she's been working on.

Which can be difficult for the less than patient types who want to get boozed up fast.
"Picked it up from traveling. Alcohol can be a valuable commodity for intel, and other things... so it paid to learn."
no subject
Well, she's probably had worse regardless of how it turns out.
"Cheers, then."
Maketh tips her head back and drinks.
no subject
If purple had a flavor, Rey suspects that it would taste something like this. Otherwise, her palate is not nearly experienced enough to give it a proper description.
It's not bad, though.
Rey licks her lips after, before setting the glass down as she waits for Maketh's verdict.
no subject
She opens her eyes.
"I like it."
no subject
Rey tries not to sound too surprised. While she doubts Maketh would openly criticize Rey's effort, it's hard to imagine her lying about such a thing.
A quiet smile tugs the corner of her mouth. "Good. It's... good, knowing that you're capable of doing something you know you can probably do. Something that isn't what you were meant for."
Maybe a subtle drag back to their original subject they were talking about. Even if it's as simple as making wine and liquor, it means something that she can put her knowledge and memories to use, and it doesn't involve killing.
no subject
She knows. She practices.
"But you made this. And it's not a line. I do like it."
Maketh shakes her head, wondering.
"That's--well. That's something."
no subject
"Thanks." She takes another drink, and a second taste becomes more acquired. Not too dry, not too sweet. Close to the way Rey likes it. "It is something. Will work at it, and try to get better."
She doesn't mean to refer to wine as a metaphorical form of attempting self-improvement, but she just did. Hell, if it makes some people happy, who is she to care?
no subject
Like how Emily makes clothes or Henry is learning how to cook. Maketh takes another drink.
"What made you decide to...?"
no subject
"Wasn't really a conscious decision so much as it... just happened," Rey confesses, setting her glass down. "First it started as a bit of a haphazard effort during the gods' competition for Sorrow. Then Delight's bar was blown up and she said she wasn't considering on bringing it back, and Firo offered to help, so... Figured it might be worth the effort."
Everyone needs a hobby, right?
