By now, the gods have probably done enough weird crap to you while you're asleep for you to be a little suspicious- but it's not like you can just not sleep, especially when there are a few supernatural forces making your eyes droopy and your body feel heavy.

And now, when you fall asleep, you'll wake up somewhere else and you'll likely have quite a different temperament- you'll be younger, maybe a little more naive and innocent, and you won't exactly remember all the wild stuff that's happened to your adult self. Maybe now you'll be a little more trusting and emotional, hm? The gods could definitely use a little boost in power, and what better way to do it than to harness the power of overemotional kiddos!

Or maybe you aren't affected at all and find yourself surrounded by youths. What are you going to do when your best friend doesn't know how to cook for themselves? Or your bitter rival is throwing a temper tantrum because they broke their favorite toy? Nobody asked for this kind of responsibility, but think about what would happen if nobody was around to take care of these babies...

Space ships? I don't know, I haven't seen anything like that. I wouldn't put it past them to do more than just manipulate emotions, but...so far, no.

But how does anything get done with everyone doing their own thing?

[Margaery likes being in control. in all things. it's part of why this place is so hard on adult her, all the uncertainty]

[she arches an eyebrow slightly, but that's about the extent of her reaction]

I hope to! Thank you for all of your help, Ephemera. [she hesitates a moment, then gives him a quick hug]

[Maybe it should be stranger to her, but Taako's hands against her face, even if they're so much smaller and rougher than they are now, feels so incredibly familiar to Lup, as if two hundred years later she can still perfecty remember the shape and feel of her brother's hands at that age. She grins down at the boy while his tiny fingers skim over her cheeks, her own hand coming up to give his dirty hair a ruffle.

She can't wait to tell Taako about this later.]

You'll get there, hun. Just gotta give it a few more decades. And trust me, it's all gonna be worth it. You're gonna be incredible wizards, two of the best.

[Maybe it's a little too hopeful considering how difficult their lives continue to be, but the difficult childhood they lived through was well worth it for the magic they'd grow to master. The magic that meant they'd never be hungry or cold or need to run again.]

You like it? Cause you're rockin' the same color in the future. And sure, we could afford it, if we wanted, but magic works pretty well for the upkeep. Want me to do yours?

[It's sure to be remembered real soon.

Now that it's been brought up, Lup starts to wonder if the same thing happened to her and her brother.] How do we find out if we time traveled forward or backward? What if my brother's stuck in the other one? Do you think I can get back?

Yeah, my teachers are the same way.

[And her friends, her friend's parents. The list goes on. They look like a normal family on the surface but anyone who spends time with Abigail quickly realizes she's overly dependent on her parents for her age.]

Sometimes I wished I could just get away, but this isn't what I had in mind.

[puzzlingly]

Wait, why is she hiding? Eh, he lets her do her thing while he starts putting on all the golden jewelry that was kept between his clothes, he wouldn’t have wanted to lose them in the pool after all.

"How are you going to cook it? You're not eating it raw, are you?" Yet again, he tosses another obvious question at her, he doesn't know, maybe people could eat raw fish.

... No...

[He says no, but he doesn't sound too sure. Ignis isn't scared of heights, but a relatively recent fall from a considerable one has made him a little wary of them. He looks at her with a puzzled expression, broken only by taking another small sip of water.]

... Why do you ask?

[Abigail watches him carefully as he makes his way down. A tiny sigh or relief rolls out of her lips once he's on the ground and she gives him an approving grin]

Great job!

[She wonders what to show him first. Her first thought is weapons; the paranoia in her enough to always see that as most important. This kid doesn't seem like he'd know how to use them and that can be more dangerous than not having them. She decides food, water and shelter should be her top concerns.]

Have you seen much of Hadriel?

It doesn't look like any cities I know.

[Not that she knows many places.]

Of course, there's other places to go. There's home.

I had breakfast.

[But it's hard to tell how long ago that was, and this heat is making him far more thirsty than hungry. Noctis is here, though - and he's sure now that this is Noctis - so he's trying not to act as if he's too concerned about what's going on.

Meanwhile, though, his eyes are everywhere. He's still working on getting the measure of this place and the longer he goes without waking up, the more concerned he is.]

But it must be nearly lunch time.

[Lup slips behind Angus, leaving Taako in front of the younger boy, her hands moving to plop down on his shoulders with just a little too much force.]

Would be pretty rude t' hold onto all of it without sharin', right?

[Shoe! Heaven! Now!]

[restinglichface]

[It doesn't seem like Rose is too afraid of her anymore, so Lup closes a little more distance between them, smiling when she plops down closer.]

Yokai? Never heard of 'em. Must be real good at hidin' if humans aren't talkin' about you guys! [Humans, she's discovered, tend to let their mouths run on just about everything.]

Oh wow! I've never seen any ice magic before. Can you do some? I know that some wizards can do that kinda stuff, but fire's all I've got right now.

[glaivekeeper]

Perhaps. But if we were brought here, then it follows that there must also be a way to return.

[Ravus wipes his brow with his sleeve, a little less concerned with royal decorum than Ignis when he's flagging in this heat.]

You've yet to introduce yourself, beyond your kingdom. Tell me more, while we seek shade. [He gestures, expecting Ignis to follow. The temple nearby seems like a promising place to shelter for a while.]

[Her mouth twists. She's not sure she believes him.]

So you're totally fine with being in some weird desert? Can you like... help me get home?

[Yukari's eyes sparkle as he gives a nod. And, for the moment, his mind leaves the painting, turning to talk to Yusuke.]

She's really nice, I just know you'll love her! She's always so thoughtful and she does her best, even though she's a single mom. Have you ever known a mom who's the sweetest, most thoughtful mom ever? I love her more than anybody else!

[And no, he doesn't mean that in the Oedipus way. He just simply means that he's never had to want with her. Love has never been lacking for him. Not until she passed away, at least. But this version of Yukari doesn't know that, yet.]

Hadriel?

[He's never heard of it, and it shows on his face.]

But I did just get here. I've never seen it before. Though... I guess mom sometimes takes business trips and we go to different places. But...

[A worried pause on his part.]

She would have told me. Does this mean I'm.... I've been kidnapped?

[That last word sounds a bit panicked for sure. He's never heard of any Hadriel, he's never seen it on any map. Just what is this place?]

Yea, definitely! It should stop the bleeding until you can get cleaned up at home.

[Yukari offers a smile as he ties it around Taako's leg, securing it with a knot to make sure it stays in place. Then he holds out a hand to help the other boy up.]

Just make sure you're careful. Where is your mother? Maybe she can make sure you're okay until you're home.

[He's still completely oblivious about the bags being snatched, focused on Taako's well-being.]

[ He shakes his head ]

That's so strange! When Cano was eight I wasn't even allowed to go outside by myself.

[ Mainly because at that age he would toddle off whenever he heard something interesting and fall asleep in random places ]

[ Angus makes the mistake of taking his eyes off one of the twins for a second, and then Lup is suddenly behind him and his exit is blocked. He squeaks, going completely rigid. Oh boy, is he gonna have to jump out the window again? Is that going to keep being a Thing when the twins are involved? ]

Everything that I have is in here, and you already said you didn't like any of it!

[ PLEASE DANIEL, WE CAN'T KEEP DOING THIS!! ]

[she giggles]

I'm not allowed to go outside by myself, either. A daughter of House Tyrell would fetch a large ransom, so there are always Septas and household knights accompanying me.

[Margaery would lose herself in the gardens or one of the hedge mazes for hours if left to her own devices, but she's got to learn everything a queen needs to know]
