By now, the gods have probably done enough weird crap to you while you're asleep for you to be a little suspicious- but it's not like you can just not sleep, especially when there are a few supernatural forces making your eyes droopy and your body feel heavy.

And now, when you fall asleep, you'll wake up somewhere else and you'll likely have quite a different temperament- you'll be younger, maybe a little more naive and innocent, and you won't exactly remember all the wild stuff that's happened to your adult self. Maybe now you'll be a little more trusting and emotional, hm? The gods could definitely use a little boost in power, and what better way to do it than to harness the power of overemotional kiddos!

Or maybe you aren't affected at all and find yourself surrounded by youths. What are you going to do when your best friend doesn't know how to cook for themselves? Or your bitter rival is throwing a temper tantrum because they broke their favorite toy? Nobody asked for this kind of responsibility, but think about what would happen if nobody was around to take care of these babies...

She doesn't know what she's done, but the change in his face is immediate and obvious. It's enough to dial her own smile back down to something small, artificial and self-protective. Her hands slip back into her pocket, weight shifting to one foot. ]

That's okay, isn't it? The world is big. Even Aman is big, and that's just part of the world.

[Shaking his head]

No, I met him by the pools. He must have been here for a long time though, because he said people were busy here with hunting and cooking and building.

[He gives a puzzled look at the question.] What's a religion?

Oh...

[There are a lot of tall buildings around, and the young boy had not-so-subtly scoped a few of them out on his way here.]

So... [She pushes the bunched up tension out of her shoulders with a grandiose shrug.]

What are we gonna do? It's really hot out here.

[He spent most of his young life scared, so he knows what it looks like. He doesn't want her to be scared, though, and he's doing his best to make things seem safe - of course nothing here is ever really safe, but at least he can be sure that she's not really in any danger. Hopefully he can convince her of that, too.]

Maybe you're not allowed up here at home, but this is a different place. No one is going to get mad at you for being here.

What are crocodiles and hippos? The word "crocodiles" sounds angry.

They're a flower that we use for our House sigil. [she pulls a fine gold chain out and shows him the charm hanging off of it] Roses look sort of like this. They have velvety petals and they smell good, but you have to be careful of the thorns.

Love, if it comes, comes after marriage, not before. As a daughter of House Tyrell, I have a duty to make the most advantageous match possible.

Crocodiles are these huge repites! Their jaws are this big 「He, of course, extends arms all the way.」 and they could eat a lion in single bite. 「Eh... sort of?」 And hippos? It's short for hippopotamus. They are also very big, but it's like a water cow. They won't bother you unless you enter their territory. Except crocs, they are always hungry.

「Oh, a flower!」

It's pretty. We don't have those back home. 「Yet.」 But we have water lilies. They are pretty too.

[roseofthetyrells]

[she smiles wider] So do I! I wish we had music right now so we could dance.

[roseofthetyrells]

[her eyes widen at the description of crocodiles] That sounds dangerous! Is there any way to make them behave? [and she considers] A water cow. We have land cows, but nothing like a water cow.

[yes and one that House Tyrell has taken great pains to cultivate.

she thinks a moment] I don't think this place would have them. It's too dry. Roses need to be watered. And we have water lilies back home, too. What color is your favorite?

[puzzlingly]

Yep, they are really dangerous. But, not really, better leave them alone.

「He thinks about it.」

Some are purple, and sometimes they can be so dark they look like the sky at night, some are rosey, oh, are roses called like that because of the color? Hmm, some are also also white, but all of them have different shapes... I like them all. And you?

[fadeling]

No. Sometimes they have to leave. But they don't want you to be sad. Not forever.

Yes, it sounds like they're best avoided. Like krakens on the sea.

Probably they are. Roses are often pink or red, but House Tyrell favors the yellow roses due to our sigil. And I think I like the white ones best. It's not a House color, but it goes well with my complexion.

[unknowable]

I don't want to fall.

[He shrugs. He's not scared, exactly - he has plenty of other things to be scared of - but he's careful.]

If I mess up my clothes too much I'll be in big trouble. It is cool, though.

[ Maglor leads him to one of the outer buildings, where they can watch from the windows ]

[Lup's been there. She knows all about what it looks like to be hungry and even more about what it looks like to lie about your hunger. Starving was just a natural part of her every day life until the twins had gotten a little older.]

Sure thing. [She gives his hair a little tousle.] Shirt first, then I'll throw somethin' together for you.

[Where she'd run into him in the city, there's a shop just a few streets down, where Lup leads the boy towards, stepping inside with him when they arrive and immediately digging through for something child-sized.] What's your fav food? Any preferences, kiddo?

[Honestly, that's not wrong.

But the offer to go looking for her brother at least manages to drag a slightly softer smile from the girl, who actually looks Angus in the face instead of making eyes at his shoes instead.] Alright. Guess it could be fun t' look together. Like, we could make it int'a game!

[For a second he looks like he's about to cry, but then he swallows hard and composes himself.]

Okay. I... I don't know what to do.

Hopefully none of the ones that get tripped and eaten, Rey presumes. But then, it's not like she is one to judge. Her kind is hardly better, even if she disassociates with the synthetics akin to her.

[she shakes her head] It won't matter if I like him or not. I'll be the queen and the mother of the prince. Princes learn from their mothers and I'll have a lot to teach mine.

A tree that gives off light? We don't have anything like that in Highgarden. She must be beautiful!
