Here in Hadriel, we do introductions right. That means dumping you on the ground of an old Roman-style Colosseum with a bunch of scary monsters and also a bunch of weird shit. Your monster of the day happens to be Winged Monkeys, more commonly known as flying monkeys, from the Wizard of Oz and affiliated stories!
As you may have been able to guess, these creatures can fly and they're rather intelligent- intelligent enough to wield spears and daggers as crude weapons and strong enough to pick someone right up off the ground and fly with them to a perch, where they'll... you know, stab them with their knives and stuff.
Why? We don't know. It's Hadriel.
Just in case you lose a couple of limbs in the process of escaping these critters, we've got you covered. Scattered around the newbies are prosthetic limbs for various body parts. These limbs are all fully functional, even if they look a bit... odd, so if you've lost an arm or two, or a leg, or even a pinkie finger, feel free to grab one and try to figure out how to use it!
Good job dealing with those monkeys! It's kind of a weird thing to be threatening, but clearly someone was afraid of them once. Once you're done, you can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers May 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

He reaches out with the Force, putting enough power behind it to fling the creature backward with one unfocused push. In the past, clearing his mind of anything but the battle to come has always been an easy task. Rey’s presence is a complication, particularly in her current state.
As they wait for the next attack, he lifts a hand to her restraints and releases them. There’s a moment of hesitation before he steps toward her, shutting off his grandfather’s lightsaber and passing it towards her in the same motion.
“Here.” Questions of who it belongs to can wait. For now, this is no place to be without a weapon. "Get ready."

"I take it this is NOT where that elevator usually goes!" She jiggles the blade as a creature focuses in on them, and she charges it in return, shouting as she swings upwards, the sword carving through the hip of the creature. It crumbles a sit hits the ground, the smell of burned fur noxious to the nose.

“No. This is new.” A dry understatement, really. There’s nothing remotely familiar about the crumbling structure. Even its signature in the Force feels different. Off. As if another presence was stifling the energy itself. A thought which both concerns and intrigues him. For now, he pushes aside all academic thoughts, using the time to activate his own crackling blade.
“We should head towards the exit. There’s nothing to be gained from these animals.” He says with an edge of disdain. Sentient or not, they’re still beasts. Clearly not responsible for whatever power brought them here and hardly worth the effort.

Her back turned one of the winged monsters swing around and follows her, jostling a long spear in one hand as it throws it at her, cackling in glee.

He could leave it harmlessly frozen in the air. Or reverse its course and impale the beast on its own crude weapon. A satisfying thought. Instead, he gives a single small gesture and knocks it off course. With the trajectory rendered harmless, it lands in the dirt inches away from where she’s headed.
Not a threat. A message. This conversation isn't finished.

"Ben. We can't just let these people get hurt." She takes a step back towards him, her tone insistent. "Please."

The methods of their arrival here may be unusual, but the procedure for landing on an unknown planet is clear. Locate the essentials: shelter, food, water. Find answers by whatever means necessary. Procure a means of escape. None of which will be achieved by standing around arguing.
"We're wasting our time."
