Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!
But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.
Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
Simon Tam | open for your healing needs
So here's Simon, just outside the coliseum entrance, looking for wounded to help or direct to the clinic. Wrapped around one arm is what looks to be a slightly ragged medic band, the large red cross on it a universal symbol of assistance.]
doctor, meet phoenix
As if she could fly, like the creature whose name is her designation.]
Do you need a hand? I'm a healer. A magic one. [She clarifies that after the briefest of pauses, because she's learned now that people here aren't shocked here by that sort of thing, and that only Kate knows she's a phoenix and what that means.]
sorry for him in both ways
Ah, I appreciate the offer, and I'd be happy for the help, but probably best to stick to traditional first aid for now. Who knows if removal from your world will do anything to affect your, ah, magic.
[Not to mention, he's not a big fan of the idea of testing it out on people already wounded and bleeding...]

That's fair, 'cept my friend's been here months and her powers work just fine. But! How 'bout this: if there's something you can't fix with your traditional methods, I'll give it a go, yeah?
no subject
You never know, maybe it works differently from person to person. But I guess I can agree to that, yes. If there's someone I can't help at all, I'd rather save their life than not.
I'm Simon. Simon Tam.
[Ever the polite one, he offers a hand.]
no subject
Faith Carr. [She likes him already. He's polite! He's smart! He's handsome! All good things, she thinks as she shakes his hand.] Are you a doctor? [Or a nurse or a medic or any other flavor of health professional. There's a lot of those, after all.]

Doctor Tam, was it? Do you think you'll need help?
no subject
[Accompanied by a small shrug and a slightly nervous cough. As much as he wants to help people, he's better suited here than inside. At least here he can run if anything comes crawling out set on hurting him.]
no subject
....it was good of you to come. Just be careful. Often the monsters get out before all the people do.

i'm not sorry
also a possibility.
no matter. she's just going to say hi. and for most people that would mean walking along the street, finding the clinic staff, and checking on them.
for Kate? that means she jumps off a rooftop and drops, landing just across the road from you and looking completely fine as she wanders over. )
How's it going? Many injuries?
me neither ok
He'd probably be more impressed if he hadn't seen his own sister do the same thing at least once.
Instead, he straightens up, putting on his best pleasantly professional face.]
Not too many so far, thankfully. I'm just going to hope that means everyone's making it out safely, and not that they're all dead inside the coliseum.
[Welp. They can't all be winners.]
\o/
and aren't we all grateful for River? as amusing as reactions can be, it gets a bit old after a while. and there are far more important things in the world, in the cave, than Kate's preference for distinctly non-mundane forms of travel. )
They're slow. ( the monsters of the month. ) Probably outrunning them.
( or Faith's found them. that's also an option - set up in the clinic for the time-being or not, that girl would be needing to help. probably by exhausting herself.
(not that Kate can talk.) )
no subject
Small favors, I suppose. I've had a couple injuries regardless, maybe people not expecting violence. I'm Simon, by the way. Dr. Simon Tam. I don't believe we've met.
no subject
well, now there's a firebird in her life again. that's gotta complicate things a bit more. )
Kate Galloway. ( she'd shake, but hygiene. may as well wait on that until they're both in a place where he's not offering care. ) I do admin at the clinic. ( mostly. a few other things. it's a long story. she kind of just throws herself into everything. )

Hey chief. You a field medic?
no subject
[He nods towards the coliseum, expression polite but mildly concerned. He's too busy worrying to really place the familiar face in front of him.]
Do you have first aid training?
no subject
Some. But if you're depending on me to patch you up, your luck's shot to Hell an' back.
[Amos shrugs. First aid training he has, but he is not good at it. He's much better at poking holes in people to start with rather than patching them up.]
So if I find anybody as needs helpin', I'll tell one of the jays to get you instead, how 'bout?
[He points up: in response one of the jabberjays flutters down from a nearby rock formation and lands on Amos's shoulder fearlessly. The jay chirps and eyes Simon thoughtfully, turning its head first one way, then the other.]
no subject
[There's a faint irony to his voice as he looks a little closer at the man, finally placing him and flushing slightly at the memory. The dancer. The one he should not have watched. Whoops. He's just...not going to talk about that ever again. And look, here's a fun new topic to talk about! Birds. Some...really tame bird?]
I'm not familiar with the species. Are they messengers of some sort?
[The bird is staring like it's memorizing his face. It's kind of uncomfortable...]
no subject
Well, sorta? I mean, they're jabberjays, so they repeat whatever they hear.
But I can talk to animals, so I can get them to help me out sometimes.
[Amos nods and reaches into a pocket. Producing a baggie full of pieces of fruit, he offers a small piece to the bird: cut up into neat beak-sized pieces. The jay takes it, swallows it, and says in a woman's voice: 'hey sugar!'. Amos grins broadly, because they picked up that greeting from him.]

Leave it to him to think tonberries are cuddly. He tried talking to one, only to be threatened with a massive chef's knife. One "DOINK" later, he's hauling out of the Colosseum, cursing himself for setting foot in there again.
He didn't even get a board game.]
I hate to bother you, but I got a pretty nasty wound that needs to be treated.
no subject
I'm here to help. What happened?
no subject
[He's doing the best to hide his pain, but the wound on his arm is pretty nasty.]
Damn monsters with their tiny knives are quick.
no subject
[Simon frowns just slightly as he holds a hand out, carefully taking Rashid's arm to inspect it, motioning for him to turn slightly so Simon can see the wound. That frown just gets deeper by a fraction as he focuses.]
This doesn't look like a tiny knife to me. You're going to need stitches, at least. You're lucky he didn't sever anything. Any numbness or tingling in your fingers?
