Event Log: The Beach Episode
Who: Everyone!
What: The event log for the transition to our new planet!
Where: The city, which has now been fragmented onto four separate islands.
When: May 27th-June 10th
Warnings: Surf's up! If by 'surf', you mean separation from your friends, weird sea creatures, and cold rainfall.

The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.
The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.
And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...► This log covers May 27th-June 10th.

Maglor | OTA East Island or call his phone XD
His first thought, however, is not about his brothers, or his cousin, or anything else. Oh no. Maglor lifts his head, and there's nothing but the Sea in his eyes.
"Oh!"
It's been so long. This ocean isn't his ocean, not the place where the gem he gave up everything for lies hidden in the deeps, still singing to him. But it's still ocean, and the Sea-Longing wakes in his heart. He makes a bee-line for the nearest stretch of beach, and can be found there for the first week, wandering up and down the coastline singing softly to the waves, and teaching the seabirds to sing.
video phone call!
Hey, about time you answered, big brother!
[ There's laughter in his voice. Though he's been concerned, he knows Maglor well enough to know he'd be wandering the shore entranced for a while. ]
best lil bro!
Curvo. Sorry - did you need me for anything?
lil bro loves his big bro
I just wanted to know where you were, and whether you were all right.
[ Curufn's dark gray eyes are warm with love. ]
Dawwwwww
I was in the Orchard when it happened. Are you alright? Sorry...I've been distracted...
\o/
If you were in the Orchard, then you're on the island to the east. What did you do when you found yourself here? [ He can guess, but he likes to hear Maglor talk. ]
I was in the Park. It was almost mid-morning, and Yukari came to the workshop to pry me away from my work and take a walk. Suddenly, everything was different! [ Softly ] I'm happy to smell the sea again and be within sound of the waves. I'm building a boat, so I expect I'll see you soon.
no subject
I would like that. [ He hums happily ]
no subject
I'll try to finish the craft as soon as I can. I am eager to see you.
no subject
And it to me. [ He nods, eyes lighting to hear that ]
I would like that. Are the others alright?

Hello! Are you enjoying our new surroundings?
video
[ He blinks at her with the ocean swirling in his eyes, and beats back the seasong enough to answer her ]
Well enough, I think. Where are you? Are you safe?
video
[she looks like a bedraggled kitten, despite her fine gown]
I'm on the North Island as I was in my Shop when the move occurred. I'm safe enough as I have my sword with me and the wards are holding.
Where did you end up?
video
At least you are safe - but you should speak to Curufin. He is building a boat, which I think will be helpful in getting you home! I am...
[ He has to pause ]
I am not sure - whichever island the Orchard is on? East, I think. I have not... been paying much attention.
video
Curufin is on this island? I'll have to find him. Do you know where on the island he is?
[she waits]
Oh? What have you been paying attention to?
video
By the shore, I think - or in the forests, hauling timber.
[ He shrugs a little, shyly ]
The Sea. [ He says simply ] The sea-longing can be... a little overwhelming, when it wakes.
video
I'll have to look for him. It sounds as though he won't be hard to miss!
[she smiles warmly at him]
Really? What is it like? If you don't mind describing it to me.
video
[ He pauses thoughtfully ]
It... it is a little like being homesick, I suppose? But... more. It... is as if all you can see, all you can hear, all you can dream of, is the sea and what lies beyond it. It is the sound of the waves in your heart, and the horns of the deep in your dreams. It is beauty and it is pain.

Good place to end this one?
I'd say so!
mid-week
...I don't think that's going to help me.
[what's that old saying about noise scaring away the fish? oh hey Maglor.]
lol
Law? What are you doing?
no subject
[sarcasm aside he is just sort of standing on the rocks, but a closer look will reveal the pole in his hands and the bucket nearby. Maglor's distracted demeanor gets his attention, though, moreso than the waves lapping at the rocks below his feet]
I was going to remark on your good mood but now I'm not so sure.
no subject
[ He shakes his head, trying to ground himself and focus on Law ]
I'm fine. The sea is just... very loud.
no subject
I didn't realize you had an affinity for it.

So you're glad to be here too, then.
no subject
Mostly glad. [ Maglor laughs and comes to sit by him ]
I have missed the Ocean - although this one doesn't sound the same. And you must have too, I guess.
