What: The intro log for August
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: August 10th-13th
Warnings: New folks, metal falling apart, fun stuff
As you wake up on the sand of the colosseum, gazing up at cloudy gray skies, you might wonder what you're doing here. Where are you? How did you get here? You'll figure it all out soon enough, so try to clamp down on that rising panic, or you just might end up in a dangerous situation.
Because, of course, you're not the only thing that arrived. The Door has also chosen to pull in some rust monsters. These monsters may look a bit like insects, but they're much larger, with a rather vicious bite. You can fight them, but be careful - anything metal that touches them instantly begins to corrode. Your sword, a bullet from your gun, even your robot friend. Might want to keep a little distance.
And that's not all. Scattered across the ground of the colosseum can be found a variety of unique and delightful musical instruments. If you're the musical sort, maybe you can figure out how to play one - or maybe you already know. Hopefully no rust monster has wandered too close to the one you want to try, or you might find that it's missing important metal bits.
Once you've found a way to express the song in your heart, feel free to leave whatever bit of safety you've found. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers August 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
Speakeasy mingle. | OTA
The lounge is stocked with a variety of food and refreshments -- some alcoholic, some not. Thousands of tunes play from the sound system and jukebox at the stage. Multicolored lights flash over a glowing dancefloor of many shades. There are plenty of relaxing booths to sit and rest your weary legs, chill with your food and drink and meet new people or have a date. Maybe don't ask for crap like hot dogs or chilli fries if you enjoy having teeth.
You can dance, or belt out some stupid 80s song you may or may not have ever heard of. Enjoy a drink, where the bar has a combination of self-serve liquors and other refreshments, as well as a bartender to make you some special cocktail with a stronger kick.
In addition to the liquor, you can also order a soothing cup of tea served from a black and gold porcelain set with some interesting designs at the bottom of the cups to surprise you when you finish your drink. The tea itself is not alcoholic and the flavor might not be something you can easily place, but you'll most likely find yourself less stressed and more bubbly, and giggly depending on the level of strength you ordered. If you're in pain from being suckerpunched over a poker match, this concoction will help ease your suffering (but not your pride).
For a less active evening, the Game Room holds a selection of recreational activities to keep you just as engaged. Between the casino games, a variety of board games such as checkers, chess, and Battleship, and even an arcade machine with many two player options and several options to play, you should have your evening cut out for you.
Remember, pinkies up!
[ooc: This is the monthly Welcome Dance Night! Consider this an open mingle thread for both old and new folks alike. Tag in, tag out, hit up your friends or rivals or meet new people. Assume that this is set around the 12th.]

[Molly appreciates a good party. He drinks plenty, trying to find the most unheard of drink possible to imbibe just in case he gets something fun out of it. Whether the fact he laughs heartily with the people on stage and occasionally tries to sing along once he starts to get an idea of the song he's never heard is due to the drinking, it's hard to say. He could just be very fun.
He also messes with the jukebox quite a bit when there's no one on stage, very obviously intrigued by it. He's seen others use it, so he understands its purpose, but its means is beyond him. Not that he's a mechanical sort by any means; he's not trying to figure it out too hard, just figure out how to use it.
Eventually he manages to select a song mostly by accident, and when it starts playing he laughs victoriously.]
Well! Not the song I was thinking of, but I don't dislike it.
GAME ROOM
[Molly appears to be shuffling some cards other than his fortune-telling deck, for once. He's pretty good at shuffling the deck, from experience, but he's actually got limited experience with card games. Mostly his card games are bullshitting readings for people.
Not that he's never played. But the first game that comes to mind is the one that Jester taught Nott, all those weeks ago, when they first met in that tavern. He thinks back on it fondly, a little painfully as he remembers the recent separation of the group.
If someone walks by, he calls out to them.]
You ever heard of a game called the Crick-Queen's Call?

"I'd like several bottles for my table," she'll ask a bartender with a grin. "Red wine, rum, and - oh, your choice. Whatever you have lots of."
Whether successful or not, she finds a seat at a table with several open chairs. Texts out invitations to the few people on good terms with her, though she seems to be in a cheerful mood and likely to welcome other company should someone want to come chat. Particularly if that person responded to Law's call for a crew and she hasn't met them - if she recognizes them from a video post, she may wave them over. It becomes quickly obvious that although she rarely says much on the network, she does pay attention.

for rey;
[ Here's a face she probably hasn't seen in a while. It's a long story. (It's not, actually, she is just terrified of water still and boats are horrifying floating death contraptions.)
It took a little longer than she'd like to really admit to get over herself and hop onto one with Connor, but... She made it. Finally. She's missed this place, she realizes, as she settles into in front of the bar, leaning an elbow on it and smiling easily . ]

Connor | Open
[What an interesting place to exist in their current situation.
Connor had heard about the Speakeasy before, of course, but has been generally avoiding it simply because he had no real reason to visit before and probably would've attracted attention he doesn't want. But this whole newcomer dance thing is a good excuse both to finally take a look at the place, and to observe some of the people here.
So he's settled into a booth in a far corner, dressed kind of like a lazy hipster in a beanie and jeans and a few layers, but at least his current clothes--unlike those he arrived in--mostly fit correctly. His hat covers the glowing LED on his right temple, but nothing can be done about the fact that he's clearly not drinking; not just alcohol, but anything, because he should definitely not attempt doing so just to maintain appearances. Taking the chance of thinning out his blood supply with tea or alcohol that would do nothing is not just stupid but wasteful.
To distract from that, though, Connor is fiddling with the quarter that he had brought with him from home, going through a variety of tricks. It's definitely just for calibration and not a nervous habit, definitely not; it's also definitely not both a distraction from his lack of drink and a way of providing an opening for conversation if anyone wants to approach.
Otherwise he's content to just lurk and watch people, although it probably isn't too difficult to tell he's doing so. He doesn't stare, exactly, but he still hasn't quite mastered the skill of studying people without being noticed.]

He gravitates towards the games first, toting a drink with him as he checks out some of the arcade games. Shit, he hasn't played one of these in years, and he's grinning like an idiot as he plays. He glances around every so often, practically inviting anyone to join in with him.
After a few more drinks, he makes his way to the dance floor and calls out to the closest person. "You gonna ask me to dance or what?"

clinic mingle / ota.
Though currently well-staffed, the nature of the city - now more than ever with the city divided among four islands - means that the organisation will never turn away a pair of helping hands, whether you're well acquainted with medicine or just want to learn. Or even if you just feel like finding them equipment from the shops. There's enough disasters in the city in any given month to warrant the extra supplies - even more so looking at this month's monstrous offerings. Hope you didn't get too beat up, but if you did, that's what this place is here for!*
Whatever the case may be here, you're welcome to come talk to people. Just don't touch anything without washing your hands first.
Oh! Did you sail / teleport / swim to another island first? Don't worry, the clinic has you covered there too. Though there are no fixed bases on the other islands (yet), staff are available to help if need be. Just specify where you are.
* Does not apply to metal beings, this is a clinic, not a mechanic's.
( open mingle for all clinic shenanigans. You know how it works, just post a top level below! Ask for help, ask to help, chat to the staff... please just note which island! )

Peter Parker | OTA (any time between the 12th and the 20th hit me)
Anyway, this last batch of new arrivals had brought some bigass rust fleas with them, and he'd been left with one useless, rusted out web shooter and like one remaining cartridge of web fluid. Annoying, but he'd been meaning to find an excuse to drop into the lab more anyway. Whereas the first couple times he'd visited the lab he'd mostly just been taking notes and trying to stay out of the way, this month he's staking out his own little corner of the lab and diving into some little personal projects.
Whether he's elbow deep digging through scrap metal and Null parts, mixing up some new batches of web fluid, or disassembling his web shooter so he can try to fix the damn thing, Peter's going to be hanging around the lab quite a bit more often over the next couple of weeks. As much as he likes his nerd shit, he also like chatting with people, so just interrupt the shit out of whatever he's doing. It's probably not that important anyway, right?
Also, expect huge, mystery spider webs just popping up every now and then, like that one web hammock that just appeared in the break room one day. Apparently the lab is now infested with giant, lazy nap spiders (look, he's gotta test this stuff somewhere, okay).]

Edgar | OTA
But he definitely could help by bringing new specimens to study and examine. After all, the city hadn't thrown in anything that he couldn't deal with, yet. However, the problem was that Edgar was quite committed to his act of pretending to be a human so he couldn't exactly drag in anything that would cause any suspicion towards him. Luckily though, there was something he had picked up from the corners of colosseum upon his arrival that he had been curious about. Small pieces of bones covered in dried blood. Edgar hadn't been able to identify them himself as he wasn't exactly interested in licking sand or stones. But these people should be able to help him.
So, with the bones safe in his pocket Edgar makes his way towards the science lab.
"Hello?" He calls out as he enters the lab, looking at the equipment and machines with curiously. "Is anyone here?"

[The great thing about your secondary sword being made of carnival glass is that, once you see enough people's weapons and assorted other possessions start to rust on contact with the large insectoid creatures attacking from all sides, you can switch to your offhand to protect your actually-valuable gold-colored and magical sword.
Feeling a little awkward with only one weapon in his hands, he still has quite a bit of skill in battle, so when he sees someone struggling he'll jump in to flank the monster from behind and take a few strikes at it from behind to take the heat off of them. The glow of his sword seems to shine through prismatic ice, and when he slices twice into the insect's back ice crystals seem to freeze in the wounds.
This is easy. Fighting the monsters in front of him is simple. He can handle everything else that just happened later.]
Looked like you could use some help!
HOT SPRINGS
[This place isn't so bad, all things considered. Molly's never experienced natural hot springs before, which is exciting. As far as he can tell, it's just a slightly repainted version of a bathhouse -- or bathhouses are repainted versions of hot springs, who can say. He's comfortable undressing despite it being public; he doesn't necessarily have anything most people here haven't seen before, most likely.
He may be a little more purple and have a few more tattoos than most, but it's fine.
And anyway, he thinks he deserves this. He'd rather not wonder what the remaining portions of the Nein are getting up to without him, if they were able to retreat, if they'll be able to try again and save the captured. He'd be lying (which wouldn't be out of character) if he said the thought wasn't nagging at him. He'd like to not worry about things that he can't change, and he hopes this spot is popular enough he won't be alone for long. At least this place is populated, even if it's not quite what he expected to be the first thing he saw after all that.
Nothing would be worse than suddenly being without his people, other than if he were suddenly completely alone.
He takes a deep sigh and leans back in the spring. Warm water is a nice luxury, especially when it doesn't have to constantly be replaced like in a bathhouse.]
Ah. I could get used to free warm baths.
AROUND TOWN/WILDCARD
[Molly can be found in pretty much any location as he gets his bearings and ensures he's around people as much as possible. He does not like being alone for long. He can be found inspecting odd foods and clothing at the shops, trying out and subsequently collecting fucked up alien fruits at the orchard, checking out the wares at the armory, or randomly entering any building at all that seems to be a public one rather than a residence to check it out.
If you'd like to plot something up you can get ahold of me at
COLOSSEUM
Lucky for him a purple guy with the coolest sword that he's ever seen in his life just chopped the snot out of that bug critter and saved him the trouble of having to deal with it. NICE.]

She's got her own mission today, or rather she wants to see if she can find anything interesting. With supplies limited, she does scope out the places on a regular basis. Luckily she doesn't need a weapon to kick ass, but it does help. Still, she has picked some fruit at the orchard. Living in a house with a child and grown men does mean that they tend to go through a fair amount, and she's gotten used to the tastes. Better than some of the stuff they ate at Freelancer anyway.]

Keith | OTA
That's a... it's gotta be a guitar, right? It looks like it could be. It has the vague shape of one and ... strings...
Okay, musically inclined, Keith is not. It's still an odd incongruity to see, all fresh and new looking sitting against a building like someone just set it down and walked away a moment ago, so Keith goes to investigate, taking a break from familiarizing himself with the phone and its workings. He pockets his phone for now, approaching the guitar and picking it up to turn over in his hands. There's no name on it.
Looking down the street, he sees another instrument further away, and what might be one even farther beyond that.
"... Okay..."
He gives an experimental pluck to one of the strings.
It yields a sound like a beast from hell that didn't get its midday snack.
Keith drops the - you know what looks aside he is fairly certain that that shit is no guitar.
MOVING RIGHT ALONG IN SEARCH OF GOOD TIMES AND GOOD NEWS
Newly informed of many things about this new place he's found himself in, Keith has his helmet off for the time being and his phone in front of him like
a goddamn millenniala map. Mainly because he is in fact using it like a map. He's not Pidge, he can't plan the most ideal route in a moment's notice, but he is mostly making his way around in a sort of clockwise fashion as he looks to visit each of the temples, the clinic, the fire brigade, and the guard. It's always good to know where a clinic is, he's got skills that could be helpful in either the guard or the fire brigade depending on who needs hands or if he could do both, and the temples, well. They seem to be the focal points for the Gods who seem to be what all this fuss is about, so he wants to know what they look like and where they are. If they're defensible. He can be found at any of the locations, and while he's nowhere near the chatty sort and would need to be approached first, he's not against meeting new people.
LESS HIGHWAY TO HELL, MORE EASY RIDER
Wheels are wheels, even if they only go so slow a grandma would drive them.
Keith has tried to see how fast they can go the instant he's got a moped under him, mind. The magenta of the moped doesn't go well with the red of his armor for those that are curious, no, but it was literally the first one he found and Keith isn't picky enough about aesthetics to look for another.
Since he can't exactly race on these things, he's seeing what else he can do.
You know, wheelies. Building ramps. Stuff.

Tinya Wazzo, 2 OTA, 3 Locked
[---pain! the last thing Tinya remembered before she opened her eyes was unbearable pain. she was burning? she was dying? but the moment before had been so perfect, held in Jo's arms, words of love ringing in her ears, her own teasing confession of her love for him in return, and then pain. And in the time it took to blink, she was away from the forest, away from Jo, and away from the pain.
she pushed herself up from the ground and then took to the skies, courtesy of her Legion flight ring, trying to get a better vantage point of where she was.
the ground was rocky and the plant life sparse, so it obviously wasn't the forest she and Jo had been just a moment ago and as she took a look around at the other people in the arena (why an arena?), it became clear that Jo wasn't with her. she worried at her lower lip as she took in her new surroundings. nothing looked like anywhere she'd been on Earth or on another planet and she forced down the gnawing dread that was growing inside her mind. she had to keep a clear head if she wanted to figure out where she was or how to get home or if she was actually de--no, she couldn't be dead. could she?
that was when she noticed the aliens in the arena. they were strange-looking, like overlarge insects with nasty sets of teeth. she'd seen worse. she phased all but her fist and flew back down to punch the alien in the jaw, sending it reeling back from where it was about to attack another newcomer]
Are you all right? That alien was pretty close!
The Shops
[Tinya sighed in frustration as she sorted through a pile of clothing, looking for something to wear. Everything she'd found so far seemed to be relics from Earth's distant past. she wouldn't be seen in any of them.
there's a growing pile of discarded clothing at her feet. please don't trip over it?]
Around Town/Wildcard
[Tinya can be found just about anywhere on the islands. she has a flight ring and she's going to use it. she could be at the orchards, trying the local produce, or checking out the hot springs, or sifting through the ancient weapons in the armory, or even accidentally mistaking your apartment for hers as she phases through the door]
Locked to Peter Parker
There's a Braalian and a Titanese in the Legion, two founders of the team in fact. Both of them were too young to be caught up in the war and honestly, watching the way they work together, you'd almost forget there was a war in the first place.
I think there's just one Titan? At least in my version of the universe, there's only the one. How did you wind up there, on an empty planet?
Locked to Staci Pratt, modified given the monsters
You don't think they're sentient, do you? They seem like giant insects.
Locked to Maglor
[she gives him a meant-to-be-reassuring smile]
There will be. Every time evil tries to get the upper hand, there's always someone--or many someones--who do whatever they can to stop it.

Bethany Goodrich | Original Character
Cool.
And she has the gall to look surprised when it tries to take a bite out of her. ]
Oh, [ She breathes, throwing herself out of the way of another attack. ] unexpected.
[ Once she scrambles back to her feet, she moves cautiously, waiting for the monster to make any sudden movements. She should honestly run. She's not a fighter, she has no weapons, but at the same time...these things can see her. Or at the very least, they can sense her presence somehow. It's quite honestly the most interesting thing to happen to her in literal millenia, so she's a little hesitant to just leave. ]
Can you hear me, too, you weird thing?
[ She's just thinking out loud, she's not actually expecting an answer or a reaction from the bug, but...she can't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe it can. ]
Tokyo Driftiiiin'
So when she discovers the mopeds, and the fact that she can use them, well. She's actually pretty excited.
She's not very good at driving them, however. It's the teen movie representation of someone trying to drive for the first time. There are a lot of sudden stops and starts as she tries to get used to the controls, she almost tips over a few times, and once she's a little more comfortable, she really starts cruising...
Right into a wall. Or maybe even another person.
She isn't going very fast, so she's fine, but after crashing she just kind of lies on the ground for a while, laughing quietly to herself. ]
Around Town/Wild Card
• Trying to shove an obnoxious number of blankets into an enclosed space. (A porch, conveniently shaped debris, someone's closet...you name it.)
• Following characters around
• Making comments on characters or what they're doing, many of which are rude and/or judgemental
• Doing some good 'ol Breaking and Entering
If none of this strikes your fancy, you can always hit me up via PM or
Colosseum
[A little behind her is a man in a green deputy uniform looking at her quizzically. He's not going to interfere and stop her, if she wants to get munched up by a bug that's not his problem. We're all meat afterall.]

sanji | open
Oi, oi. You shitty fleas.
[It's not an exclamation; it's spoken coldly at normal volume. The man who uttered it is currently standing before a group of three rust monsters, pointing at the ground behind them. There is a cigarette in his mouth, but it's unlit, and his pockets have been pulled inside out with nothing to show for it.]
I dropped my lighter over there somewhere. Either help me find it, or stop blocking my view.
[Unsurprisingly, the insectoid monsters don't comply with his demand. When the center one pushes forward, Sanji doesn't raise a weapon. No, he raises one leg straight up into the air-]
I said.
[-and slams it down over the rust monster's disgusting thorax. The wave of bug juice and offal that sprays from the flattened monster is not only vile, it reeks too. Apologies to anyone located in the splash zone.
Only now does Sanji shout.]
Stop blocking my view, or I'll squash you like the shitty fleas you are!
[The remaining rust monsters charge. Sanji isn't complaining.]
the orchard
[Caedra had mentioned an orchard. As a pirate, Sanji knows it's a necessary stop for him. As hard as it can be to keep fresh fruit and vegetables long term, balanced nutrition makes all the difference between life and death on a sea voyage. As a chef, however, he's just excited to see what all of these alien ingredients taste like.
Anyone who comes upon the orchard early on the 11th will find a young man peeling the skin of a strange blue fruit he's just picked from a tree. He brings it in close so he can sniff it and immediately smiles.]
I think it's ripe! Reminds me a little of an orange. I wonder...
[He's definitely diving in for a bite. If someone wants to let him know whether that's a good or bad idea, now is the time.]
the kitchen
[It's in a half-abandoned restaurant that Sanji has taken up temporary residence as he sorts through the various edible items he's found. He's been able to find food itself with relative ease, even if he doesn't recognize most of it. That hardly bothers him. It's finding out how to prepare this food that's ruined his already precarious mood.
A chef who can't even distinguish between an oven and a refrigerator? It's unheard of! It's humiliating! It's infuriating!
Anyone passing by will see plate after plate lined up on every available table or counter space. Each plate has nothing more than a mouthful of food on it as it awaits its turn in Sanji's feverish cooking experiments. Sanji himself paces the kitchen like a man possessed. He snatches up a plate, slams it into a random appliance, presses a button, and watches the disasters unfurl. Then he forces himself to eat whatever comes out and records the results on a piece of paper so littered with minuscule notes it's almost illegible. Rant, rinse, repeat.
Do you dare interrupt the chef in his own domain?]
kitchen
But a puff of orange-colored smoke comes out what looks to be a chimney, perhaps - or maybe their kidnappers' idea of advertising in a building such as this, and Caedra diverts from her path to have a look.]
... Sanji?
[That's right, she recalls him from - something earlier. Another strange trick of their captors, much like how she had met Alice. The whole thing is shrouded in Confusion's mark, but here he is, through the Door, and presumably all of this is in fact real.
Whatever this is.]

charles eyler | ota
Well. That's not really a surprise, though.
However, what is a surprise is that when he reaches up to brush sand off his cheek, it's with a bare hand. Which leads to another discovery: this is definitely not his body. Great. Fantastic.
In any case, what does this mean for the people of Hadriel? Good question.
He won't be hanging around the colosseum for very long, because there's just a bunch of musical instruments (and who knows who's been touching those) and monsters. If you're trying to be cool and fight the monsters, he'll totally stay out of your way. If you're being That Guy at parties and trying to play the musical instruments...okay, that's actually kind of ridiculous and bizarre and he'll watch to see just how badly your favorite song gets mangled. Or maybe you're not bad! Who knows!
If you're out and about in the city, there's a slim chance you've seen this face before-- well, mostly if you actually know who's currently wearing it and happened to be around for the whole mess a little over a month ago(?) and were lucky enough to find yourself in one particular dream.
There's a less slim chance that he's seen your face before, and...actually, he's not sure whether or not to greet you. It might be kind of weird, and it's not like most people here actually want to be here, but whatever. If you manage to notice that he's kind of awkwardly staring at you, he'll say hi and then we can move on from there. It's all good.
And then if you have no idea who he is and he has no idea who you are, then that's just fine. They already have common ground now (being here)! Wonderful! Maybe. ]

It's only then that she turns to look around and see if anyone noticed this ridiculous display. She sees someone new there not far off, and her expression immediately sours.]

Shops/Streets (Closed to Nick Valentine; 8/10)
Oscar listens as the creature he managed to lure away from the Colosseum skitters along the perimeter of the wall that currently separates them. He won't admit that his success at diverting its attention from the new arrivals was somewhat accidental; one of them just happened to stalk after him from the moment he stepped foot inside one of the outermost alcoves of the arena. He wasn't left with much time to go over a plan, but he was quick to formulate one when he began to understand the extent of the animal's interest in him.
He ran as fast as his newly repaired legs would carry him toward what he believed to be the most isolated section of the island, but the organism's rapid movements forced a change in trajectory that led them into a slightly more populated area. The oversized insect clipped against him a number of times as it chased him. It struck him across the front, knocking him cleanly off his feet. Only now that he is stationary does he notice the impeded motion of cogs and gears within his frame. It is something that will require inspection.
Now he is hidden within the confines of a long-abandoned store until the creature can find a way inside. His wheelwork turns noisily as he analyzes his physical surroundings, thinking that he would like to trap his pursuer so it does not go out the way it is sure to come in. There are very few options available to him as he alone cannot cause a partial collapse in the structure of the opening it will use.
He carefully sidles through a narrow crack in the otherwise smooth stone work once he has made certain that the creature is attempting to push through the much larger crevice on the opposite side of the building. In the dusty mid-darkness, he cannot see the obvious affliction that is steadily spotting and blooming across the front of his steel casing. He doesn't once think to take a moment to assess the damage he sustained in his hurry to get here when daylight is shining down on him again, too preoccupied with the situation at hand. He doesn't have a moment to spare.

"Everything all right, Oscar?" he asks as he jogs up, his eyes on the crack in the wall, then on Oscar himself... and then they trail down to his fellow automaton's chest, the ruddy speckling against his steel frame, though partially covered by his coat, impossible to ignore.
There's a quiet kind of horror that crosses Nick, his eyes widening, mouth barely agape -- he crosses paths with Oscar often, saw him only a couple of days ago while on patrol, and he'd been in fine shape then. What could have caused this kind of corrosion so quickly? Is there a way to fix it in Hadriel? And most importantly, how far does the damage go?

Katara | OTA
[ Katara is immediately on guard when she comes to in the Colosseum. She looks around, wondering where exactly she is and how she got there in the first place. She feels around, making sure her items were still with her. Spirit Water? Check. Pouch of water? Check. Necklace? Check. A pulse? Katara puts two fingers to her throat, gently pressing at a certain point and feels the fast pounding of a pulse. ]
Phew...
[ Okay then. Check.
Katara looks around at her surroundings feeling...off. Something wasn't right. She was sure of it. Katara places a hand on her water pouch, ready to defend herself. It seemed her feeling wasn't wrong as, the moment she turns around, she sees a creature that seems to have locked on onto her. She's certainly never seen anything like it. It moves fast so she is automatically at a disadvantage and couldn't just use her water here. It would be a waste anyways. She instead picks up the closest thing on the ground. A weird...instrument looking thing. ]
Yeah, this'll work...maybe.
[ She hopes so, anyways. ]
the city.
[ Katara has been just about everywhere, seen the all four nations with her own two eyes, but she is sure that she has never seen anything like this place. Everything seems so different, some things reminding her of the fire nation and other things reminding her of the earth kingdom. She even sees things that reminds her of the air nomad temples. It is almost like all the nations have been combined in one singular place.
She is currently on a quest to find a map. No luck so far, unfortunately, but it never hurt to ask around. Katara waits for the right moment before she approaches someone. ]
Excuse me. Sorry to bother you but do you know where I can find a map?
Colosseum
The creatures that come with them are insect-like this time - large, threatening, but stupid, and she keeps her distance and watches as they swarm the newcomers. The instruments are an odd touch, but uninteresting to her. She steps toward one anyway, intending to claim it for trade purposes later, but pauses as she sees the girl head for it, knowing already due to the magical effect bolstering her senses that she will reach it and take it before Caedra can.
She reaches out a hand to fire a bolt of darkness at a monster that seems to be about to head their way, and it takes the hit to its shell with a hard crack and staggers backward before it can really get moving. Satisfied, Caedra directs her attention to the girl.]
That's a unique find. Do you know how to play it?
